    Ey,

    Oke thanks.

So im going for the s4 and now i have a question about speakers.

I have a phillips mcm 530 audio system and i dont know if i can use that for my setup?

Or do i need to buy a seperate amp with speakers or a speaker set with inbuilt amp?

The mcm 530 is a amp for itself but i dont know if attach the rca cables it would go trough that amp? I dont want to blow up things.

Someone knows how this works or if it will work?

    Thanks

Connect the S4's Main Unbalanced Out (RCA connectors) to the AUX/CDR RCA connectors on the back of your MCM530. Press AUX on the Remote repeatedly until AUX/CDR shows on the display. Easy as that! (Check P.24 of the user manual)

Oh, and just to make you feel even better:

Or to make you feel even better, most DJ's in the pro circuit are using digital set-ups nowadays. That being mostly Serato in the states and mostly Traktor in Europe but they both have laptops at heart. Of course laptops do crash now and then, but it doesn't happen often and with CDJ's you can get into a lot of problems as well. So yes, playing on laptops is perfectly safe.

    Hey man,

I've been dj'ing for a couple years now and I started out with a pair of CDJ-800's and I was using timecode cd's to play my mp3s. I wanted to get the best value my money without getting crap gear, and I definitely was happy with the CDJ-800s. The CDJ-400's felt too cheap and toyish to me, as do most all-in-one midi controllers. The S4 however is a real solid piece of equipment, however at 900$ it's hardly cheap.

The CDJ-800's were real simple to use, and the timecodes worked very well, although the looping features don't exactly work properly with timecodes, so basically I was using the CDJ-800s for play/pause, and the jog wheels. I could have been using a 100 dollar CDJ and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Recently though, I have stopped using timecodes and switched to midi controllers. I find that the capabilities of the midi controllers are alot greater (you can program the buttons to do whatever you want, pretty much).

Looking for a pair of decks that had the best jog wheels, and allowed me to use MIDI, I found the numark NDX-800 ($350). These things are freaking amazing. They allow you to use them as a midi controller OR a CD table, or you can plug in a USB flash drive and DJ the mp3s from that. I have had them for about a week and as much as I love the pioneer CDJ-800s, these things are great replacements (and less expensive).

Hopefully my short story here contains some useful information to you.

    Cheers

ps: also I forgot to mention that I don't think anyone has brought up the fact that you will need an external sound card if you get CDJ's and you will not necessarily need one if you go with a midi controller such as the S4 (although the s4 has one built in I believe)

wrong, they do have usb ports..

i think it is not a bad idea at all to start off with cdj´s, you will have a chance to understand mixing before you´re endowed with the sync button. They do have a function that helps you mixing too, but since the jogwheels of the cdj´s are nice to use you will also be able to get a good feel for the process.

pioneer means quality, and the 350´s are probably still the best value in their product range.

the s4 will of course mean a lot more functionality, but in order to use it to its fullest potential i reckon its not a bad idea to start of with cdjs and move digital later on.

    Hey,

I already made a decision i go with the s4 and im happy with it. It should come tomorrow.

And ive tested the cdj 350's myself and they felt kinda plastic and crappy maybe they were like used alot in that store but they didnt feel good. And btw for the usb function i mean that you can load tracks via usb stick. Didnt know the 350's had that.

    Thanks,
