Yes, used it last night at my gig, extremely happy with it and will probably get 2 of these to replace my CDJ2000's.

The screen is awesome, and the "PERFORM" section works really well although I'm going to remap a few things to my tastes.

I can see these being a great personal purchase but in a club scenario where you'll have every DJ and their dog bashing at a touch screen I don't thing they'll stand up well.

@frankle Have you seen this long review of the XDJ1000 vs CDJ2000Nexus?

I've only gotten through about 15 minutes of it, but the major thing that stands out is the difference in brake controls (around 12 minutes in). Thoughts?

Just watched the review, and for the majority of people there is very little difference in the usability of the players. The only other difference that wasn't covered was the platter friction control, but the XDJ actually feels like where I have the CDJ2000 anyhow so for me it's not an issue.

The link to DJM and on-air light change of the 2000 is quite useful in the dim lit DJ booths but something that I've only ever seen setup in a few places, and I've personally never used it ... And I've definately never used fader start, lol. The single brake dial is fine for me as I just leave it to the extreme left, and it doesn't work in Traktor anyhow!

I can see these being a very popular player for people to have a home so that you can practice all of the things you can do in the club on the installed CDJ2000's for about half the price, or for people wanting the USB player link that have CDJ400/800/850 and want to upgrade, or like most on this forum wanting to use HID but don't want to shell out massive money for the 2000's.

As mentioned above I'm looking at replacing my several year old CDJ2000's (non-NXS), and I'd say that it'll be quite a cheap change over after selling the 2K's. These would be players that only I will be using for gigs and kept in Road Ready cases to, from and between gigs so I think they'll stay in decent condition.

The screen and Perform secton work really well for me, and once I re-map a few things like I've done with the CDJ2000's (and NXS TSI's) so that I can access all 8 Traktor Hot Cues then I'll be very happy.

Hey Frankle! I've read a lot of your posts on your use of Traktor HID with the XDJ's- Having come from S4's & S2's, i'd love to use my XDJ-1000's/DJM-900 through Traktor- but cant seem to find any definitive guides online, I realise its only in Beta just now, but would be keen to try it out if you'd give me any info or any links that might help me out,
    Much thanks in advance

    Awesome, I have a stalker, lol :D

First question, Mac or PC? It makes little difference as I run a MacBook Air as per my signature, and I have a Surface Pro 2 that I've also installed Traitor onto. The biggest issue at the moment is that Pioneer are yet to update their drivers for PC to 64bit, therefor if you want to use the DJM900NXS as your soundcard (my recommended way) you need to run the 32bit version of the Beta (there are instructions somewhere else in the forum). If you're Mac then it's a bit easier at this stage.

First, make sure you're running the current 1.04 firmware on your XDJ1000's, if you're running 1.02 (that was originally installed on the one I used) then you won't get wave form cue points or time showing up correctly.

Next, install the Beta which will push your existing install to a backup folder so you can go back to it if all goes wrong!
Setup the DJM900NXS as your Soundcard - External Mixing, choose your layout order, I like mine to be C/A/B/D, and set it up in the Output Options.
Plug in your XDJ1000's, Traitor will automatically add them into the Controller Manager section, you do not need to manually add them in.
Press the "Link" button on the XDJ1000 - choose your deck to control - this will automatically change the "device target" in Controller Manager, you should not need to change anything manually.

Then enjoy using your XDJ's ...

The best bit of advise I can offer is to try and never use the soundcards inside of any of the CDJ/XDJ range if you can help it, the Aggregator adds another point of failure to your setup, and normally if 1 of the players USB leads goes wrong then it drops both. By always using the DJM mixer soundcard you can actually hot plug CDJ/XDJ's on the fly without issues (on my Mac, not sure of PC) which can make DJ change-overs that bit easier. If you have the ability to use an inbuilt mixer soundcard, use it, next best option is to use an external soundcard (I always have my TA6 in the bag just in case) and the absolute last resort is to use the Aggregate Soundcard using the CDJ/XDJ soundcards.

Any issues let me know but it *should* be a plug and play experience.

hmm Play hid Setup for years with cdjs now, with the integrated Cards hooked up via spdif to the djm. never had any Problem with the aggregated soundcard under Windows with best latencies. i like the simplicity of this Setup - just 2 usb plugs and you are ready to go :)

Is this your personal system or how you play in clubs? Reason I ask is that in a few of the places I play the CDJ's are on a ledge above the mixer on an angle and its real easy for a punter to pull a USB lead while I'm playing, and it also makes DJ change-over easier as I can unplug the players while my last track is playing and audio doesn't stop.
For me its 3 plugs so I can get away with a passive USB hub for the cdj's and direct connect for the DJM.

i use this Setup (with the two usb cables) on my own Setup and in the Clubs.
usually i prefer the cdjs left and right of the djm so the plugs are safe. and i nearly never play with other DJs so no need to change.
but when there is a dj Change i would prefer your setup of course also when the rearplugs aren't safe from drunk People :)
when playing small gigs with my t1 and cdjs in hid mode i use the t1 as soundcard because it has no digital Inputs :)

Thanks so much man, I wont use it this weekend, but I'll have a look at setting them up next week!,
I blame Google for the stalking, It brings me straight to your threads if i type Traktor/HID/XDJ....

This might sound like a stupid question- but where do I download the beta software?

Apologies in advance if it's staring me in the face somewhere :/

    yes, now is ok.
i select midi channel 2 for deck left and midi channel 3 for deck right.
but, now in the deck of channel 2 in vinyl mode, the track does not feel and in the deck of channel 3, when i touch the top of jog, i see on traktor lights button cue.

try higher midi channels, if you use other Controllers (even if not connected) they reserve midi channels. i use 3 and 4 or higher ones..

Yes, thank you very, very much :)
I select for the left deck midi channel 5 and for the right deck midi channel 6.
Remain only one thing: when I insert the vinyl mode in the left deck, the audio there's more
