Pioneer XDJ-700 Waveforms

Hey NI team,

There were a whole raft of improvements for the XDJ-1000mk2s in the Traktor Pro 3.5 update.

I think some of us got confused by the addition of the XDJ-700s in some of the release notes.

Whilst features of this nature are currently being worked on and improved upon, can we expect to see full waveform displays for XDJ-700s make an appearance in an upcoming update?

I currently have two 1000mk2s as my main decks and a 700 as my third deck for acapellas etc. I'd love to be able to keep this long term, if waveforms are indeed coming soon.

Hi VesperDJ - we would have loved to bring the full TRAKTOR Stripes also to the XDJ-700, but unfortunately the HID specs of this device do not allow us to switch from half to full stripe. So it is more a question to Pioneer, TRAKTOR 3.5 is already attempting to show the full stripe.

 

Thanks for the reply Friedemann, I'll certainly try and raise this with Pioneer and see if there's any appetite.
I'm guessing this is just a question of Pioneer finding time to work on a new firmware update, as the tech works fine with Rekordbox?

 

This is surprising indeed. I will reach out to Pioneer myself to find out, if full style waveform is available with a newer firmware already.

My apologies, but I've just checked and full waveforms do not show with Rekordbox in HID mode, but they have always worked if you use a USB stick that has had music exported from Rekordbox. Hope that's a bit clearer!

 

That's right! HID mode usually offers less features than standalone mode.
Pioneer confirmed that also Rekordbox in HID mode does not provide full style waveforms.
I assume this is due to technical limitations of the hardware and probably not fixable with a firmware update.
