Pitch Shifting Issue During Playback in GarageBand

Hey guys, total N.I. newb here... in fact, I'm new to DAW's, recording, and everything more or less. Anyway, I recently installed the free Kore Player and sample library, which I'm running with GarageBand. Since I don't have a midi keyboard, I'm using GarageBand 11's built-in Musical Typing window / my desktop keyboard to trigger the sounds within Kore. Anyway, the issue is arising when I record myself playing any notes that I pitch shift (there are pitch shift up / down keys on the keyboard typing window)... it sounds fine and pitch shifts perfectly while I'm listening to myself play while recording, but when I go to play back the recording, the pitch shifts sound all screwed up. Any ideas?
