    Hi all!
In Grain Cloud Property has several parameters that I can’t find in the manual

Grain attack and decay is supposedly doing the same thing as Att and Dec input controller do except that I don’t her any audible effect when changing there values.
Do they do anything at all?

Gain Correction seams to be a compressor with a gate attenuating very soft sounds (or is it just no make up gain….?

    But what is PJ Static?

    Not working here.

    Hi

The properties attac and decay definitely don’t work here.
I have even recorded the sound so se if there where any minute differences.
I have made a lot of different settings and there is absolutely nothing happening to attack and decay using settings in Properties.

Im working with the most basic grain cloud possible, just P, Pos, Len and Dist.

The only control that changes the attack and decay is the Att and Dec controller input.

You should test this yourself, I’m on a PC running XP and 4.1.2 version. If it realy works on your machine I would be suprised....but then I like suprises : -)

    PJ static and grain correction

    Hi again!
The purpose of grain correction is pretty obvious to me, what I would like to know is what does it does exactly, it sounds like a simple compression thing. I guess it wouldn’t be that difficult to find out most of what it does but this is something I definitely expect to find this in the manual.

The same thing goes for the PJ Static I would like to know what it does exactly, if it produce some kind of chorus is fine but I would like to know exactly what happends.

I just explained both of these. Exactly.

    exact

    hmm

I apriciate that you answer but excatly.....
You told me what it did not how, witch is an absolute necessity to tell EXACT what happens. To be exact you should at lest have told me:

-How much does it randomize (deviaton from P).
-Is the deviation amount always the same or is it some parameter (like grain density) that changes deviation amount from P.
-What is the speed of deviation (if ther is a modulated deviation) or is it on grain basis.
-Does the PJ parameters changes according to grain density, MIDI clock, samplerate or something else......

And, did you check the attac and decay programing in Properties becouse they DONT work here. Att and Dec controller inputs work as expected.

i found it intersting that the original GrainCloud v0.1 ensemble, on which the graincloud module was later based on, is still in the user library. it has two insruments with snapshots that can illustrate some of the parameters. They don't have Pitch slides though, which i added later (feature not appeared in kyma's original graincloud either). check it out.
