sounds like most of you on this thread dont know what the different columns in track collection and for that matter any folder are there for(you know if you scroll right it gives you more info right?) and you can use these to filter, and as said before if you do it from the track collection it will be instant rather than opening a folder which updates every time....the track collection is very useful, you should all use it.

I wouldn't even call it a bug. A lot of software works this way. My video editing software does the same thing.

I didn't say it wasn't annoying, I just said it is very common in a lot of apps.

Hi Kensic - not sure i'll be any help but here goes.............

As we all know Traktor likes to operate from playlists as opposed to explorer. Yes this is a pain however for ultimate performance this really is the only way to go. I previously used an old PCDJ program which worked in the same way.

It takes a little time to add to the Traktor collection when adding just a few songs, and sometimes one might not make it through properly if distracted by the phone or suchlike. Periodically i delete all of my playlists and import them back in again. This picks up any stray tracks.

My track collection mirrors the layout of my music folders in explorer so it all the preparation is done upfront before importing. Also, rather than rely on virtual playlists i do not want to lose within the program, i export them out via Traktor into another folder in explorer\music so i can have everything back properly when i update from scratch.

The most important thing is to organize your music folders in explorer first and view Traktor as a program which just reads them as an end result. This really does make life easier, and if you ever want to change to a different dj program you will already be familiar with the layout of your files and can import them into your new program quite easily.

Not sure if this was what you are after because the thread went in a few directions - i have just kept to the original topic. Hope it helped! :)
