playlist auto-update with files original folders

i would like to be able to import folders to playlists (which is already possible) without duplicating every track that was already there when i first imported it, every time i update some folders.

it would also be good to have it automatically done (cleaning up the missing tracks and importing the new ones automatically to that playlist)

it brings back the feeling of working with a virtual crate, which would be a better description than a "playlist". This is possible in serato scratch live, if you create a "crate" and drag a folder from your finder (or explorer) into it, it imports all tracks, and if you drag it again it only imports what wasn't there before. It's the only feature i really miss on TPRO.

This sounds almost exactly what I was thinking: a form of "smart" playlists that are more like queries on the database. This would allow one to create lists for things like "top rated", "most played", "recently imported", etc. It seems like the capability is there with the current searching functionality and just needs to be exposed. Further enhancement would include saving searches as playlists.

 

I know this is a fairly old question but is there any word from the devs as to whether this might be a feature in the future? For me it just takes too long sorting my files into playlist folders and then having to import them into the right playlist! Auto-import on startup would be an epic feature for me..
