Yes, but as I said in a few posts before, half of your list isn't even a real DAW that's used for music production - so why would anyone need an instrument plugin in Menu Magic, AudioFinder, or Plugin Update (LOL - that one is the funniest)? Don't be ridiculous.

    ProTools userbase is quite large.

    Not that large. ;-)

There are more users on Cubase, Nuendo, STUDIO ONE, SONAR X3, FL STUDIO, Vienna Ensemble, Wavelab, Audition, Bitwig Studio and N Track Studio then there are users on completely Pro Tools section.
"Especially the electronic musicians that NI is all about."

Add to the list that Reaper and Samplitude are up next to add VST3 support too very soon.

    Lets face the reality here.
Pro Tools users are estimated to be minority of the whole global market. Pro Tools 11 users even less.
The BIG MAJORITY of the users use x64bit DAWS like Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, STUDIO ONE, SONAR, Reaper and FL STUDIO, not PRO TOOLS x32. Pro Tools 11 is the first Pro Tools that are finally in native x64, catching up of years behind the rest of DAWs... ;-)

Once again-------> NI products aim especially on the electronic, DJ and Score for film and TV-/productions-musicians that NI is all about. ;-)

    Let's see now:
Vienna Ensemble is not a daw, neither is Wavelab or Audition
BitWig Studio is only in beta

And Pro Tools is larger than you think. Virtually every major film production is done with PT. Ditto for most major recording studios. The only other competitor in major studios is Cubendo.

And let me add a couple of other major daws that don't use vst 3: Logic and Digital Performer. Using your logic why should NI support au when only 1 daw uses it?

To use your line: let's face reality here - NI isn't going to do vst3 any time soon or at all as there's no need as long as other daws all support vst 2.x Just because Steinberg may stop supporting vst 2.x doesn't mean that version of the vst format is no longer useful or can't be used. Sometimes stability is a prime ingredient and not the latest fad.

    I'm done feeding the troll.

He's hardly trolling - that is absurd. He's made a valid request and argued his case pretty reasonably and without acrimony on his part. Sooner or later NI will go VST3, many major plugin companies have already, the rate was slow initially, and many smaller devs are understandably reluctant, but NI is one of the few larger plugin companies still to make the move.

    +1

    Thanks! ;-)
Its just ridiculous to call me for trolling after making a simple feature request be added to NI's product lines. State that my request are not valid are more likely to be trolling in that case.

Freddie has been far from reasonable - he doesn't understand the complexities of programming.
How many times do you have to be told - it's NOT a simple request and the programming isn't trivial. It's not trolling to say your request isn't valid when you have no programming knowledge. I've written plenty of code in my time and requests like this aren't simple.

lol - even if that was the case it doesn't make it an unreasonable request, or trolling.

Programming doesn't matter to the end user (most of us anyway). It's not like VST3 is impossible to implement or even a far fetched request so who cares how hard it is to implement (except the programmers), plenty of "OTHER" companies have done it and are doing it just fine. I also would like to see the Native Instruments line updated to include VST3/3.5

I don't know what you all talk about or WHAT NI IS WAITING ON?
Seems pretty straight forward to me. No extra program skills needed to add a VST3.x format.

Steinberg focus their efforts entirely on the development of VST 3. The latest SDK--------------> RENDERS SOFTWARES IN VST 3.x, VST 2.x and AU format.

//Timo Wildenhain continues: "The VST interface is extremely popular throughout the world of music production and recording, and the latest enhancements in VST 3.6, such as Inter-App Audio compatibility, pave the way for an even wider acceptance."//
