Please don't tell me that you can't load MP3's inside Kontakt

    No, you're misreading, or purposely wanting to convince yourself that we're telling you what you don't want to hear.


    1. It's NOT HARD to code it.

    2. It's NOT EFFICIENT for CPU to decode tens of MP3 voices at the same time (if you intend to play polyphonically like all other normal samples).

    3. It's NOT USABLE in realtime because of 2.

    4. For crying out loud, lossy formats have NO PLACE in professional sampling. Get over it.

    I'm going to go ahead and close this thread since it's getting quite repetitive and I think all points have been made. It's valid that one user would find it useful if Kontakt could import MP3's, but the showstopper is that a real-time streaming engine like Kontakt could not handle that efficiently, so that's pretty much the end of the discussion. Let's keep the discussion at a reasonable tone, eh? We all have things we'd like to see added to Kontakt.

    The workaround is that it is very easy to convert MP3's to AIFF/WAV if you intend, for example, to sample Sinatra (and presumably you got the copyright clearance to do so).
