    Hi all,

in the last "Maschine on the record sessions" (wrong title I guess..) NI replied to someone asking if a MIDI upgrading is planned, asking for CCs and PCs...

NI replied that a MIDI upgrading is on progress, and that's cool.

BUt I'm presently thinking of selling the maschine since I really need a REAL MIDI SEQUENCER, as in the RS7000, and I could buy a full options RS7000 for the same price...

If I could KNOW how long the full MIDI implementation of maschine will take, I could decide wether or not to sell my maschine to get a RS7000, or just wait for the forthcoming MIDI upgrade of maschine...

I can wait, say, from 2 to 6 months probably, but not a year or more... :S

Presently I don't use maschine, I got my old dusty RM1X out of the cellar, and enjoying its full and complete 16 tracks MIDI sequencer and editor, and jam with the patterns and mutes. I use ableton live as a FX audio and recording console and sampler, also receiving the audio from my hardware synths that are being sequenced (CCs, PCs) by the RM1X.

But the rm1x is old, lots of buttons and triggers that are buggy, the record button is dying... and the whole experience, while still being really pleasant, is lacking freshness and the controller "touch feeling", responsiveness of MAschine...

I'm now dreaming of a real MIDI Maschine, much more than when I first posted this feature suggestion :)

But... NI stays really evasive and who could say when and what will be the next midi update?

For all that I asked (deep and complete multi port MIDI sequencer), for now I could really live REALLY REALLY HAPPY with just the CC and PC implementation, even if it stays one only MIDI port)

I hope that's planned soon, but I can't help from thinking of selling it to get the RS7000...

    Or,

I could repack the maschine, put it in the cellar, and keep on with the RM1X setup,

    ...

PLEASE NI, AT LEAST, BE MORE PRECISE!

WHAT MIDI UPDATE IS PLANNED IN THE NEXT UPDATE?

    :) :) :) :) :) :) :

    just bumpin' the thread ;)

I'm still looking for a competent midi sequencer, and now lurking at MPCs with JJOS...

I'm probably gonna buy a 2500 or 1000 with JJOSXL. I'm really annoyed I can't use maschine for that, since the hardware is really dope, and most parts of the software too...

but I can't wait no more for NI to announce about this, and seeing the most frequented "feature requests threads", I guess MIDI implementation is not on the requests charts for NI.

I'll probably sell my unit, and, probably, buy another one in some times when Maschine becomes really complete midi workstation,

    but for now...

I'm gonna go the MPC way (RS7K is discontinued, and even a "mint condition" one still is at minimal 5 years old...)

Thanks for your support to this feature request,

I'll someday come here to bump the thread ;)

    cheers

I need MIDI sequencing within the scene arrangement window NOW. I'm this close to reverting back to my Roland MV-8800. I'm trying to keep the faith in Native Instruments.I believe they know what they have to do.

    I don't believe, but I HOPE :D

I'm selling maschine and purchasing a mpc with JJOSXL, I'm pretty sure Maschine will be really dope in one ore two years, but I can't wait so I'm going back to hardware for some times :| :)

If NI really know what they gotta do, then I'm sure I'll buy another Maschine back when its final version is out.

    cheers

Although it has its limitations theres so much you can do with maschine. Ive finally got to the point i can use maschine inside abelton, and its taken my music to the next level. Updates will only make things easier for me though, as for now theres a few workarounds etc.......however, my work flow has never been so fast.

I have to admit the 1.6 announcement has made this much less of an issue for me personally but it's still something I'd like to see on the roadmap

i was one of the earlier users of maschine,,but i had to sell it due to lack of real midi implementation..

but i still waiting for it to get real on the midi side,,it is a great tool when it comes to audio manipulation,,but NI cant just ignore the fact that there are several new hardware synths and drum machines out there that are just great..so why dont take advantage of this? if maschine had a real midi sequencer along what it already its capable to do it would be a monster combo..

    anyway..

at the moment i stick to my mpc2500 with jjos,,wich by the way its updated constantly and its taking the use of mpc 2500-1000 to another serious level..

im just waiting to have a real midi capable maschine so i can take it back and hook it up to my system..please please please,,give us a real midi sequencer,, we are a lot of hardware users out there !

Don't forget that with the 1.6 update, we already know that Maschine's sequencer will have full control and automation of every parameter of all hardware that have editors that load as plugins.

And the list of such hardware is constantly growing thanks to the free open source MIDI hardware editor project like CTRLR providing free editors (both plugin and standalone) for an already extensive list of hardware in addition to hardware that already comes with editors such as
    Virus TI
    Novation Ultranova
    Motif
    Fantom
    ...etc.

So that also means full sequencer control of hardware such as:
    Moog Little Phatty/Voyager
    All Access Virus synths
    All Novation synths
    DSI Evolver/Mopho/Tetra/Prophet '08
    Waldorf Blofeld/Pulse
    Micron/Miniak
    Korg MS2000BR
    Clavia Nord Lead 2/3
    Elektron Sidstation
    Roland Juno 106/Alpha Juno 2
    MFB Polylite/503
    Oberheim Matrix 1000
    Studio Electronics SE1X
    JoMoX MBase01/Mbrane11/Airbase99/Xbase888
    ...etc.

The obvious benefit this brings to Maschine over something like MPC is that you no longer have to save patches separately on the hardware as you only have to save Maschine's project which will load and recall the settings for the hardware you're controllng.

hi noiserot. sorry, but your suggestion to use this CTRLR plugins to receive a real sequencer isn't a solution. did you read the first post - and did you understand what the users here like to have?

by the way: even the CTRLR plugins aren't a solution for the purposes you understood. why?

    - on a mac the CTRLR plugins crashing all hosts immediately! it's not really possible to work with them if you're on mac osx!
    - it doesn't seem that the developer is interessted to continue to fix the mac versions!
    - many hosts aren't supported by CTRLR - it doesn't work at all!
    - why you're so sure they will work in Maschine - did you already tried it?
    - many, many synths are not supported - 'only' the common ones!
    - hardware effects, sequencer, controller, etc... aren't supported at all!
    - in may cases you're MUCH more flexible with a REAL cc support of maschine then with this CTRLR plugins!
    - do you know how the future of CTRLR will be? do you know if future os releases (i.g. windows 8, mac osx 10.7, ...) will be supported?

so please stop to hype CTRLR! it's very nice that they exist, BUT: a) they are NOT a replacement of a real midi sequencer - and b) they are NOT working for everybody.

    thanks.

yes, you can believe me. after working almost 14 years with different hardware sequencers - i can tell you that i understand at least 90% of maschine, even after ONE week.

and to be honest: the midi sequencer of maschine is the most simple one i ever experienced. so it isn't complicated to figure out the capabilities in a few days!;)
