I´ve seen some post one this forum about multi samples.

I would really like multi sample support in absynth too.

Also would it be nice that the samples are saved in the patch. (embeded or in a folder)
so you dont loose them so easely.

    Thanks

I like the sound of multi-samples, however, I don't see how this could work with "sample jump" envelopes, as each sample would need a different envelope and in doing so could never be coherently played.

With multi sample i mean that the oscillatorsection can use mutiple sampled notes spread over the keyboard.

This way aliassing is less and you can use real analog multisamples with maintaining a certain soundquality

Now u can only use 1 sample for 5 or more octaves thats a bit lame i guess:eek:

Yes, I understand what you mean and I like the idea in theory, I was just pointing out where there could be complications with its implementation.

If aliasing is your concern, then multisamples aren't the solution, but different/improved interpolation algorithms. Omnisphere for instance can stretch a single sample over the whole keyboard without any aliasing.

Absynth isn't a sampler, it's a synth first and foremost - a synth that can also use samples as soundsource to bring some more variety to the table. If you wanna work with multisamples, then there are alternatives - the most popular being KONTAKT.

I'm not trying to dismiss your request. Though I firmly believe that Absynth shouldn't be developed into directions that will eventually turn it into a jack of all trades. There's more than enough potential for enhancements within its current concept and character. And I'd rather the devs spend their limited resources on the latter.

You can always make split patches with at least 3 (multi)samples spread out over the range...

^ Do you mean by having one of the multisamples in each of the 3 oscilators?

Yes, e.g. Osc A from C0-B1 - Osc B from C2-B3 and Osc C from C4 to G8, you can also let them overlap.
