There been a bit of discussion concerning the importance of even quintuplet and septuplet divisions to create the swing feel normally associated with neo-soul, LA beat scene, and other genres.

It would be pretty easy to exploit these concepts if additional grid options were added to Maschine since quantize and note repeat and controlled by the grid setting.

Grid options in equal divisions of 7ths (1/7, 1/14, 1/28 for example) or 5ths would be a great workflow addition.

    Thanks.

If we could select some midi notes and warp-stretch them like in Ableton Live this could be done without adding thousands of time divisions wich would be confusing. It would also solve this.

In live we can for example select 7 midi events and force them into a 1/4 of a beat like this:

Lots of people have been talking about Septuplet Swing lately.

Yeah...I've already done that in Ableton, but I'd like to have this type of swing natively. To be able to create this feel with on-the-fly without mousing around and messing with custom midi files.

As a grid option you could just use quantize or step sequencing to create that feel. That would be much better for live remixing and jam sessions. I've searched and searched for a sequencer that could to this easily but none exist, so this would be make Maschine pretty unique and innovative in the sequencing realm.

I feel you. But at the same time there can't be a absurd amount of time divisions. Maybe software wise there should be some kind huge sub list of odd time divisions and we could pick as favorites and have them displayed in the hardware. A compromise between a huge list that wouldn't be very friendly to browse in the hardware and at the same time have more options that suit different people.
