After getting Komplete Select during the summer with a hardware deal I've been waiting for Holiday deals to purchase Komplete 13. While some of the synths, pianos, and effects are appealing, the electric guitar Electric Sunburst was a big draw for me because I've been playing around with some industrial and other rock tracks and the guitar in Kontakt factory Selection just doesn't cut it. It's sounding like Electric Sunburst (not deluxe) is ONLY pattern/riff based despite the description on the Native Instruments website describing it as "a timeless, playable electric guitar". I am praying someone will make me feel stupid and tell me what option to hit because if I can't play my on riffs & melodies, that's very much a dealbreaker for me. If that's the case I could've just dropped $100, rather than $280 on holiday special, to get something like RealEight or an AmpleSound guitar. I just figured I would hold off since I already had some NI stuff at that point. Again the full Kontakt 6 and Reaktor 6 would have made it worth the cost difference, but my only "necessity" was an actual electric guitar (because everyone gives you the acoustics or bass for free or low cost, but not the go****n electric ones). Now, as it turns out, I may not even have that! No discription or video I had come across from NI or otherwise made it clear that this seems to be a riff/strum/arp-ONLY instrument. Those options are well and good, but they don't equal playable as NI describes it.

Electric Sunburst Deluxe allows single note play using the "Melody" NKI, the regular version of ES is Patterns only.

    Thanks for the input.
That is extremely disappointing. Nowhere does NI's description of Electric Sunburst say that it is riff/pattern only. They could easlily include this in their YouTube videos: "while Sunburst doesn't let you play individual notes it does....". That would be fine. But apparently playable has different meanings to the amateur producer VS the software manufacturer.
