Is there a known issue/limitation with running a plugin (NI AbbeyRoad 60s drummer) inside another plugin (Machine2) inside a DAW (Reaper)?

    The background.
I'm tinkering with different workflows to find what really works for me.

Right now I'm attempting to use Maschine in standalone and use the NI Abbey Road 60s drummer plugin inside it. That way I can use the quick nature of the maschine mikro mk3 and the machine 2. The thinking is that I may want to work on drums directly in maschine standalone, then open the project inside the plugin in reaper.. that way reaper can have all the other tracks of instruments/vocals, etc.. but still driving the maschine plugin in real time (rather than me doing an audio export from maschine and putting that as a reaper track).

However, the goal is to get those same drum tracks into a DAW (Reaper).

So I load up a Maschine 2 plugin in reaper and then inside that I load the AR 60s Late Kit Full as an instrument (thus loading the AR 60s drummer plugin).

When I first load it, I can tap the pads and hear sounds. I go into the midi setting on the sound and set the source to hose.
If I press play and it plays the midi track, I can hear the drums fine.

If I stop and restart.. or jump back in the song.. the sound output is gone. The only way I can get it to play the sounds is to remove the instrument, re-add it and setup the midi input again.

Also, if I noticed that if I don't change the midi input source from default to host, yes the sounds don't play, but I can stop and restart the song and the drum pads still work.

It almost seems as if the midi is sending something that changes/reconfigures some settings.

TLDR; Plugin inside plugin works first time, not after stop/restart.

Note: The abbey road drummer plugin loaded on a track works fine. Doesn't have this issue, it only happens when loaded inside maschine plugin.

    Reaper 6.43
    Maschine 2.14.7
    Abbey Road 60s Drummer 1.3.0
    Windows 10

Seems to be something inside that midi that is causing it.

When I killed that midi track, created a brand new one and just drew in a couple of different notes on the piano roll, it works fine. Works the first time through, works after restarting the song.

Hmm.. Any thoughts on what might cause it or how to find it?
Maybe put the rea midi in front and turn on the log?

I found it (forgot to come back and post the update). Looks like 07 Volume MSB had a value set.
