At native bpm (or otherwise), I get a noticeable popping noise if I turn the keylock off. This a real pain since I'd like to be able to switch back and forth during playback (basically, make transition, adjust bpm, turn off keylock). How do I fix this? I have the latest traktor kontrol s2 and updated software.

Have suffered through this for years. Hoping NI fixes it.

As a workaround, I'll sometimes only use keylock at end of outgoing tracks so the click shows up when the fader is down. Mix workflow as follows (assume tracks are in same key but a few BPM apart and that I try to play every track at its original BPM, using keylock to avoid tuning clashes and audible BPM changes due to tuning changes)
    • As outgoing track gets to 75% completion, turn keylock of outgoing track on (at a suitable point that any change in SQ will be not too noticeable)
    • Turn sync on, cue up incoming track, start incoming track, fader is down, keylock OFF for incoming track
    • Shift BPM of track playing (outgoing track) to BPM of new track (w sync on, this also changes BPM of incoming track)
    • Mix the transition, then once outgoing track is faded out, turn off its keylock (pop, but doesn't matter as fader is down)
It's an annoying workaround, and doesn't work in all situations, but will save you a few clicks at least.

Thank you. I'll give your approach a go. It does feel like juggling balls, though, to avoid the popping sound, which (for me) is a by-product of another problem, keylock adding too many artifacts (even when playing at native speed on lossless files).
