When I attempt to use Reaktor 3 in Cubase VST/32 as a VST instrument, I hear pops and clicks. This happens when I import a MIDI file to trigger a Reaktor ensemble or when I have an ensemble open and I tweak it in real time. I tried increasing the buffer size but this did not help. I wanted to record Reaktor sounds in Cubase so that I can have 32bit/96k audio files (since R3 only imports in 16bit/44.1).

I am running Windows 98 with a Pentium III 600mhz, in a Tazer II - Tyan S1854 Via 133A 4X motherboard, with 384MB of RAM. I am using a MIDIMAN Audiophile 24/96 sound card (with a Soundblaster LIVE! card installed but inactive).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem.I just had myself a brandnew computer a very pro soundcard and for the first time a non cracked version of Reaktor. And then, every time that a changed a parameter or opend a pop-up I had clicks and cuts.I solved the problem by changing the settings in my monitor-card(video-card).I ame not shure what, but I think I've changed the hardware-acceleration of my card (somewhere in advance mode)Try it out, maybe it helps. It did it for me

I had the same problem and found it was the VIA chipset and motherboard BIOS. The DMA (direct memory access - computer uses this to store and access sound directly to the RAM, I think) needed to be updated on the mainboard.

The board manufacturer (not VIA) had a BIOS update plus instructions. Please note it had to be updated from disk in DOS...
Nasty and if not done correctly could really screw things up!

So make sure you have everything backed up and are willing to take the risk....

This (seems) to have solved all my problems with Cubase and Reason (no more pops) but I still get a crackle in Reaktor when turning dials (through Cubase).

However you could try an event smoother between the knob control and the device it controls to smooth out the information flow.

I'm still trying to figure out what seems like a note on pop/flap from MIDI files (Clist says it is a sort of bug where the modules can't cope with the pitch info). Its very quite, unlike an audio clip.

    anyone else know a cure..?
