post-crossfader fx?

    Hello,
    Is it possible to set up a post-crossfader effect? For instance, if I have one word, and I open and close the fader, I want the delay to continue, I don't want it to turn off when I close the fader.
    I'd like to make this work with a simple midi/laptop setup (not using time coded vinyl or cds).

    im not sure how to set this up. but is it possible to cue the effects in the headphones before sending it out live?
