    Hello all!

I am wondering if anyone uses any program to treat his mix after it has been recorded on Traktor. Do u use any program - editor to improve the quality of the sound , fix some frequencies/EQs ?

I'm also interested in this, as i play on some logitech z680 speakers which are too bassy - and i have to account for that on my EQ's. If i record there isn't enough bass so it would be nice to bump the low frequency back up on the final file.

I reckon if all your gear is set up correctly then the only post production that is possibly required is to 'normalize' the file to get the highest volume output without clipping.

For this you can use free audio editors such as Audacity or Wavosaur.

If you are using Traktor's internal mixer in conjunction with the limiter and autogains you won't need normalize unless your master gain is set low.

I record direct off my mixer as I use external sources as well sometimes, I usually shove a mix thru Soundforge to maximise, normalise and compress (a tiny bit) anything that is peaking too high. I think that normalising has the best results as it helps to make the mix sound more professional by getting your best volume levels. If someone puts your mix on and immediately gets sound at a good consistent level it sounds much nicer than gettign a mix, even if it sounds good, that is well quiet.

    Just a tuppence-worthy in there :)
