PPC Support

Maybe this has been hashed out before, but it could use bringing up again if so. The economy being what it is, not everyone is inclined to drop a minimum of $2500 on a new Mac just to have an Intel chip under the hood. Why is it so hard to support PPC based computers? This is an unbelievably sour blow to have to endure. There are a great deal of electronic musicians out there that really need companies like NI to NOT abandon them. The last thing we want to do is migrate over to Windows just so we can get am affordable computer to run NI software. (Those of us that use MOTU don't even have that option.)

If its only a matter of waiting for an update to add PPC compatability that would be great. But from what I have read, it seems doubtful that anything like that is coming. Please don't ignore your PPC customer base!

 

Why? Because Apple with their latest OSes have dropped PPC support themselves. This means that if something's an issue with the OS rather than with the app, it won't get fixed.

 

That discussion has already been made dozens of times. Time to move on I think.

 

True I guess. And, in more ways than one, as the lowly PPC crowd may now be moving on from NI, and possibly Apple as well.

Your choice. Remember that UB was supposed to be a transitionary stage while Apple went completely Intel.
