I'm not sure if most new S4 users have noticed or not, but in S4, the EFX are defined differently than in Traktor Pro. The EFX sit after or Post EQ and Filter, where you can't manipulate the sound anymore after using EFX which use buffers (Delay Freeze, Turntable, Beatmasher at 100% wet, etc).

There is already a discussion and video about it here by gmint,

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?p=765413#post765413

but after figuring out that this isn't a bug, I thought I would post here and suggest the following improvement options:

BEST: make a smart EFX, where the EFX is Post EQ/Filter (as it is now) and Pre after the buffer has kicked in (e.g. during Freeze)... so, best of both worlds.

BETTER: make an option where we can choose to make the EFX Pre (Traktor Pro) or Post (Traktor S4).

GOOD: Go back to Pre EQ/Filter, like in Traktor Pro

Please send a feature request to NI to at least go back to how Traktor Pro's EFX where defined, so we can have back the control of using the EQ/Filter on buffer using EFX.

    i second that request.

i really miss to use filter or other effects on top of let's say the delay's frozen tail or while using the beatmasher or the beatslicer.

even if it's a 'new workflow imposition' or a bug: i'd love to at least, have the chance to choose what i want.

worst case, if it had to be static, one or the other option, i'd rather choose the previous way, like you say, go back to pre EQ/Filter.

I too think it's a valid request, but I personally prefer the "new" way. Some things I do require EQ/Filter to be applied before FX. However, I can see how the other way could be used as well. I vote for BEST or BETTER solution. Sorry, but I can't support the GOOD option :D

    +1 also

wondering why they left it out. I'm thinking this wasnt something that was "forgotten". At some point someone decided it's either not needed or it was causing an issue somewhere.

Having this back would be great.

short update: I filed a formal feature request to Native Instrument, here is the answer I got:

For what it's worth. Let's hope we won't wait too long for the update.
