Presets sound different from Mac to PC - Why?

I spent a lot of time and effort getting my presets to sound the way I want on my Mac. But when I listen to them on my Surface PC they sound completely different, and lifeless. I am using the same audio interface.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be and what I can do about it?

    Thanks -

    That doesn't make any sense...

I agree, it doesn't. But if I made a video and you saw me switching computers and listened to the patch, you'd be shocked.

Must be some settings that are off...

It must be, but I went over everything. I sounds like half the sound is dry and half is the preset.

So, it's like you're hearing the clean DI guitar signal along with the effected sound? Clearly something up with audio routing/monitoring on your interface...

Oddly, there's a knob on the audio box called "mix". What's odd is that leaving it in the middle works great on a Mac. But on the PC it has to be at 100% (no input) to sound the same. Who knows why as long as it finally works..

It should ideally be at 100% regardless of platform, if you're monitoring through a virtual instrument/effect.

100% makes perfect sense. But I never had to do it on the Mac.

I thought as long as you have the same setting it would sound the same. Well...mate, just stick to Mac then...

And it does sound the same. The problem was not in the software.
