Is it possible to prevent Maschine from going back to "Maschine Mode" from MIDI mode when you open a new instance?

For example, I have a project saved with a Maschine plugin instance. Whenever I open that project, it automatically switches to "Maschine Mode" if I have MIDI mode enabled.

That's annoying when I'm using MIDI mode to control my DAW.

    Thanks!

    Some more info:

The issue I have is when I'm using Maschine as a Mackie Control in Ableton Live, when I open a project with a Maschine instance, Ableton loses the connection with Maschine as a control surface.

Only by going to Live's prefs and re-enabling Maschine as a Mackie Control Surface does the connection become enabled.

    Bump.

Does this bug anybody else? Am I the only one using Maschine as a MCU?

I use it as an MCU too, but it doesn't bug me.

Is it that you don't have the problem?

Or is it that you have the problem, but its not a bother?

If its the former, are you using Ableton? If so, how are you working around it?

This is more of an issue that I originally thought, because when Maschine exits MIDI mode, it loses its fader values with Live. Thus, when you come back to MIDI mode and adjust faders, they jump.

I've played with Live's takeover settings, but none help.

Its seems that Maschine needs a way to "Resync" with the host when its being used as a MCU. Kore also has this issue too.

Basically, if I want to use Maschine as a MCU, I can't feasibly use Maschine as a plugin in the same project.

Yes I can see what you mean ... Maschine "forgets" the MCU value states when switching modes.

In the studio I use Maschine purely to control Maschine and instead use a MCU-Pro and 2 MC-EXTs since I find that works better. The more like dedicated appliances you can make your control surfaces the better! I use a MS-20ic controller always as my controller for Korg Legacy's MS20 for example. This is bringing back the feeling of real hardware back into the studio even though the sound is all generally software.

For the sake of portability however I can see why this would be a sore point for you
(travelling with MCU is something I would entertain but only because I'm insane).

    LOL!

Thanks for reading my thread, guys.

I got an APC40 to control Live. Its like the best thing ever. But it was making this noise (which Akai says they all do), so I was trying to look for another solution.

But in the end, I'm going to suck it up and deal with the noise, because the APC40 is so rad.

I'll tell you what though, Maschine is a kick-a** MIDI controller though.
