    Hi,
Many years ago I bought a boxed version of Pro 52. When Pro 53 came out it was a free upgrade and I downloaded and installed it.

When I rebuilt my DAW in 2007 I noticed that I did not have a listing for Pro 53 in my account at NI. I wrote to NI only to be told that I then had to buy Pro 53 as an upgrade! I eventually found my original update media and just installed it and left it at that.

However, I recently went through a DAW build and I contacted NI with the same question. So far in approx 2 weeks I've heard nothing back.

So I was wondering; Did anyone else upgrade from Pro 52 to Pro 53 for free and get a new style serial number that works with Service Centre?

    Thanks,
    Roger

3.5 weeks since I raised this matter with Native Instruments, and regrettably still no reply of any sort.

I paid a high price for Pro52, and I have spent a considerable amount of money on other N.I. products.

My experience of N.I. at this time is not consistent with that one would expect of of a reputable business.

With no help at all from Native Instruments I finally found a backup from 2003 of my installation media for Pro53.

The problem was that I had never registered. It's all resolved now.

However, it's pretty lame that N.I. support first told me that I had to buy Pro 53 which was just plain wrong and lazy, and then ignored me for a month despite my persistent chasing.

Native Instruments registration "support" is definitely the worst I've ever encountered.
