what is the difference between having traktor pro or traktor scrach pro ?

 

Traktor Scratch Pro allows controlling the decks with timecode vinyl and timecode cds
Traktor Pro has no timecode features

 

so basically traktor pro is useless unless im mixing directly from my computer , is that right ? traktor pro for computer to computer basis and traktor scratch pro for deck to computer basis . what about the price range , i was checking out the traktor scrach box and it costs over 669 $ which is alot and specially that i dont need the audio 8 but the audio 2 would do fine, unless audio 8 has something better to offer . is there any way i can switch the audio 8 for the 2 ? or can i do multiple buys to get exactly what i am looking for ?

 

Welcome To The Forum

First off you need to do a lot of reading on the website about the products.

Traktor Pro is designed to be contolled by keyboard or more generally by Midi Controller (such as the VCI 100).

Traktor Scratch Pro is exactly the same program but allows you to control it with timecode vinyl or cd.

Timecode control is ONLY possible when using either the NI Audio 8 or Audio 4 soundcards.

You cannot use The Audio 2 for timecode control. It is only a general soundcard which is perfect for Traktor Pro (not Scratch).

If you own Traktor Pro you can upgrade to Traktor Scratch Pro. (please check the upgrade options link in my signature).

Traktor Scratch Pro has 4 timecode decks and comes with the Audio 8 soundcard.
Traktor Scratch Duo has 2 timecode decks and uses the Audio 4 soundcard.

I'm actually having a blast reading all about this program , i thought that all of the threads were gonna have similar stupid questions like mine but truth be told alot of useful info from the moderator threads have helped alot since my subscription onto the site and hoping not to encounter any blockage, if so ill make sure to get back to u for info , thank you and best regards.

well since i have a budget that couldnt pay for the scratch pro box cuz where i live it goes up to 800 $ because of low demand but what i would like to know and do is if i can download the full traktor pro via torrent then upgrade it through the links u pointed out and just buy the audio 4 device seperatly and link them all together. would that work or there will be a loss if i do this ? and if i do get the audio 4 would that include the conrol cds ?

 

Using downloaded Software is illegal . Surely you know this..?
If you did that you would be banned from this forum and you would not receive any support and could face legal proceedings.

You must buy one of the Upgrade packages that are shown on the Website.
The price on the website is set . It shouldnt be higher just because it is in low demand. Where do you live ?

Also it is not possible to buy the separate hardware and and software. It must be bought together or upgraded.

Please read the website and the FAQ/Knowledge Base.

Please do not download any Torrent version of Traktor, not only is this illegal but those versions are riddled with bugs.

There's no need for torrents or upgrades or any supply and demand woes.
Choose the version you want, 2 deck, 4 deck, timecode, no timecode or certified upgrade and buy it direct from NI online via the link at the top of the page marked SHOP

 

does shipping also applies to lebanon ? i had no idea . the last thing i wanna do is get a product as important as traktor and having it scew with my mixing , id rather have it boxed then downloaded any time . how can i get info about the shipping ?

 

Free shipping is available worldwide for all standard delivery orders.
It will be free.

If you have any issues with having it shipped to your locality you can purchase the Download Version . You would purchase it and then the application/drivers/manuals will all be downloadable from the Website .

The Boxed version is simply a box with a CD inside.

I would consider the Download version.

but the info i received is that i need the audio 8/4 to be able to run traktor through my equipments and that a simple audio interface wouldnt do , as for the cds they are a necessity for mixing if im gonna make traktor my library , im gonna run everything through my computer but mixing externally on my deck so cds and audio 8/4 are very useful and cant be found anywhere in my country. what do u suggest i should do ?

This indeed has to be the boxed version. And yes, you have to use the Audio 8/4.

I wouldnt worry about the shipping. I have bought many NI products and shipping has always been great.

Have you decided on purchasing Traktor Scratch PRO ? There are other PAID shipping methods that may be better for you.

Can i ask what your concerns about shipping are?
If i were you i would select the safest shipping method available.

Just finding out that shipment can be made to my country would solve my problem and in 2 weeks time ill be able to make the purschase but as i was getting info from the shop page i found out that only after purshase that they will be able to know exactly where they are shipping the package as extra info and that really set me off cuz maybe my country isnt inlisted on the demand supply and wont be able to receive.

but some info from the support team doest sound bad at all , if u can find out if shipment to lebanon is as easy as shipping to any other country then im set for the deal. thanks buddy

 

Perhaps check Thomann http://www.thomann.de/gb/native_instruments_traktor_scratch.htm
They definitely have more experience with shipping then NI itself or any other company since it is their line. They are the cheapest in Europe for most of stuff.
There are some other mail order specialists in Germany like Musicstore in Cologne and Musik Schmidt in Frankfurt but Thomann does not do anything else then mail orders

For many products, you're correct, Thomann is the cheapest and usually the fastest. With Traktor, the difference is nonexisting; Thomann's price for Traktor Scratch Pro is 579e while in NI's own store it is 599e. However, for Thomann, there is the 20e shipment charges (on NI's store, the shipment is included in the price) which brings the price to exactly the same.

I personally ordered TSP from NI's webstore (at that time it was not yet available on Thomann). The shipping was extreamely fast - I received the package two workdays after ordering (it was delivered by a courier to my door). With Thomann, the delivery usually takes 3-4 workdays to my country.

Since the OP is located in Lebanon, I believe NI's webstore is the safest bet since their free delivery is advertised as worldwide while Thomann's market-area generally consists of European countries (shipping costs outside Europe are higher than the previously mentioned 20e).
