    Ok ok I'm sorry if this question has been asked many times before but I'm confused about these two new offerings from NI.

    I downloaded a demo of Traktor Pro to see what it's like, and when I was setting up my MIDI controller I saw an option for timecode setup. Timecode setup in Traktor Pro? I thought that was what Traktor SCRATCH Pro was for? It was my understanding that Pro has an internal mixer but no timecode, and Scratch Pro has timecode support and no internal mixer. Am I right? Or am I missing something here?

    I saw the same setup in my version of the old Traktor DJ studio, which I'm also lead to believe doesn't support timecode. Can I therefore buy a soundcard, some timecode vinyls and use DJ Studio for now (I'm on a bit of a budget here you see) and upgrade to Pro/Scratch Pro later when I have some more cash? I don't see why they would include the timecode option if you can't use it?

    I need a relatively cheap DVS (preferably Traktor based) even if it is an old version with say an Audio Kontrol 1 instead of the Audio 8. I hate Torq and don't like Serato's UI. I have a full version for the old Traktor (DJ Studio) already. Any suggestions on my options?

    Thanks for any input, could use some clarification!

    Timecode is only available in Scratch Pro. And Scratch Pro also has an internal mixer.

    You still need an Audio8DJ or a Traktor Scratch certified mixer to use timecode.

    Ah I see, fair enough.

    Why is there a preferences pane for timecode then? Thats a little bit strange!

    yeah....
    you can!

    Buy a A8DJ...
    Buy a Pair of timecode....
    and use it.....

    its work!

    just look at the how much money you spend....
    equal as you buy traktor scratch pro package right....?
    the diference are:
    traktor pro = software only (scratch support)
    scratch Pro = Traktor Pro + soundcard + Vinyl/CD + cable package....

    reading this question again and and again i think NI would have done better to release only one product name and sell the scratch mode as an option...

    Ok so if i just buy an Audio 8 and some timecodes I can use it with the old DJ Studio? Are you saying that by buying the Audio 8 or any other Traktor Certified mixer I can "add" scratch functionality to Pro or DJ studio? That seems like a pretty viable option for me if I can do it.

    in traktor pro?
    YES!

    but not in traktor 3!
    in traktor 3, you need traktor scratch instaled on your system to activate scratch mode.
    traktor 3 detect your traktor scratch license to unlock the scratch function

    but, in traktor Pro...
    scratch mode are always open.
    you just need A8DJ/certified mixer + timecode to control it...
    the software is just 1....

    i have traktor scratch pro bundle....
    my friend bought traktor pro, A8DJ, Timecode Vinyl separately.
    and it just same!

    ===========================================
    the price now is more resonable...

    traktor pro (software only) = 229.00 USD
    Audio 8 DJ soundcard = 449.00 USD
    Timecode Vinyl (pair) = 38.00 USD
    multy core cable (pair) = 66.00 USD
    -------------------------------------------------
    TOTAL = 782.00 USD

    ===========================================
    TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO CROSSGRADE
    For users of TRAKTOR PRO / TRAKTOR 1, 2 or 3 / FINAL SCRATCH 1 or 2.
    Package Comprises: TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO software, AUDIO 8 DJ audio interface, 2 control vinyl records/2 control CDs , 2 Multicore cables, manual

    Right so to put it simply, by buying the Scratch Bundle I'm actually saving money, time and hassle. Cheers for the help my friend. While I'm here, I know this is a Traktor forum but has anyone else had any experience with alternative pieces of DVS software/hardware that are cheaper? Any of them worth it (Torq, Serato etc)?

    I Buy upgrade from previous version Traktor to new Traktor PRO + timecode vinyls and in Traktor PRO with my Korg ZERO4 not Work, need to be more money to buy upgrade for certified mixer.
    Such an approach companies here not going to accept, and I prefer to buy MixVibes DVS and Traktor PRO use only when playing the MIDI controllers.

    I thought there was a difference in the license codes. I know that when I first started the software it asked if I wanted "scratch" or just "pro".
