    Since Saturday my Mcaffee Security Centre detects Pro53.exe as a trojan and removes it. If I turn off the antivirus and restore the Pro53.exe file it works fine. Does anyone else have the same problem?

    Welcome =)

    You'd have to get in touch with McAfee and talk to them; that's a false positive.

    What I would do if I were you though is:
    1) uninstall McAfee
    2) go here and download the McAfee removal tool:
    http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100507
    3) Run it

    Any McAfee or Norton product hasn't any business on a machine used for audio (or any home machine for that matter); they're as bad as the viruses they're supposed to protect against.

    You do make a very valid point. Unfortunately these days I have to to connect to the internet so often that I just leave it permanently connected. May be I'll have to review that policy. Thanks for the help.

    Why? There's other alternatives as far as firewalls/AVs go that are free or close to it, and do a much better job without the resource hit.

    Yeah I know, but the freebies, particularly the firewalls, require more input from the user. It just seemed easier to buy something off the shelf. And it was on special offer.

    Anyway I've found a solution. There's an update for Pro53, takes it from 3.04 to 3.05 and that runs fine now. I don't know why the service centre didn't show it as an update. I had to login to the website and checked for updates there. I also had to manually delete the 3.04 .exe file from the Windows programs folder as the install program wouldn't over write it.
