When i drag an audio pattern from maschine into live it doesnt transfer at the correct tempo ? I have to manually type in the loop tempo in Ableton so the audio matches the correct Project BPM....what is wrong ? It never used to do this ?

    thanks

First guess is that you don't have the loop optimize box checked and your bounced audio includes any reverb, delay or other effect tails. Therefore, it is not a precisely cut loop and Live will, by default, automatically compensate for this by trying to detect the tempo and stretching it to its tempo.

Check the loop optimize box or manually set the tempo of the clip and truncate it.

Where is the loop optimize box ? u talking about in sample/edit mode ? Maschine is open as a vst in Ableton at the set tempo in live, so surely i should be able to just drag the pattern from maschine i have created which is already playing at the correct tempo into an audio channel in live and it should loop correctly.....

Yes. Surely. That's why it hasn't worked for you.

    Oh, not so surely actually...

Try the 'Export audio' choice in the File menu. And try the manual too.

Yo Phyia u can just drag audio from ur desktop straight into maschine u know ?
Plus ableton is so easy for cutting up audio in the arrangement view....What i do is sample from ableton into maschine using the sync option ...This way it will record it spot on into maschine where u can mangle/cut it/slice to ur hearts desire..

    ;)
    ---
that what i am using the export audio option..... it works fine for midi option but for some reason when i drag audio into live it doesnt play at host bpm ? doing my nut in:angry:

You only get that option when you export audio. What about when you are dragging and dropping?

Also loop optimize isn't an ideal situation for exporting audio, won't you have to do 3 loops? One with no effect tail rendered into the beginning (otherwise when you first start the loop you'll have a tail for a sound you haven't played yet), one for the loop with the rendered tail at the beginning and finally one with a tail at the end for when you stop the clip.

All in all, it would just be easier to bounce the loop dry and add effects later...

If you set loop optimize it affects export and dragging.
I have yet to see a situation that made me have to do variations of a loop when dragging to LIVE 8.

To clear things up im talking about dragging the pattern from maschine as audio...the simple way....which i used to do and the samlpe would loop perfectly...but now it draggs across ok into live but plays at different tempo to live...Im sure there is a simple solution to this...?
    ---
    U having a laugh ?
    U used Ableton before ?

on the audio channel in live....just set the audio to (track u wish to send to maschine) Maschine from the drop down menu

Then in maschine press the pad u wish to record on and set it to exernal in sample mode...make sure sync is set also and lenght of loop u are recording is set

then press start to record in maschine.....then press play in live

The sample will be recorded from live into maschine perfectly:D

If you drop and drag then get a varying tempo, it's the loop optimize setting in Maschine.

    Hey, that sounds familiar...

And @puzzlefactory, that option is in the Export audio window, but it is a global setting that affects dragging and dropping too, as was mentioned by someone else already.
As for the 3:1 loops, yes, of course, if that's what you want. If you just want a rendered loop as it is, then no. And the same for if you want to export dry and add effects after: do that if you want.
There are many different ways to work and a lot of people will want different results, so everyone will just have to do what suits them best. I know that's what I do.

I knew it was something simple as it was working ok before updating....the loop optimize wasn't enabled...tut tut:eek:..But this must of reverted when i done the update as i have never even touched this page before in the File>export option page..

    Thanks anyway Guyz:cool:

    there's another trick:
when you drag\drop in ableton, just unwarp-rewarp. now it is correct. nice, isn't it?

Why go through that when all you have to do is set Maschine properly?

Loop Optimize is a once and done compared to warping and un-warping when you drag.

Seems like a round about solution to a simple problem.

you are correct, but given that i mostly work in maschine standalone for me is better this way round because i dont have to remember to turn off loop optimize everytime i bounce from maschine :) each one his own methods hehehe

Loop optimize needs to be turned ON not OFF to work properly.
Many of us us Maschine in standalone as well since it allows you the option of dragging to LIVE or reopening the project as a plug in LIVE.

If you set the Loop Optimize to ON and just leave it that way it's a one time deal.
If you don't set it to ON you can get the same problem when dragging or exporting to any DAW.
I had it happen first when dragging to PT.

Also remember the Loop Optimize also can affect how your scenes turnaround and play out.

I personally try to avoid messing with any aspect of the Warp settings in LIVE that I don't have to.
It helps to keep me from having to come back and fix or tweak something later because of it.

you mean that if i leave it ON it will not affect the way my entire song is bounced from maschine standalone?
