    Hi!

I don't know if you have this problem or have even noticed it, but if i drag n drop audio from maschine (plugin) to the logic arrange, i have to cut the audio file to the right loop length. that's not the problem, but i noticed after cutting or fitting the loop length for example to 1bar (2,3,4,5,6,7,8, etc.) there is a small point at the end of the length parameter (example: 4 0 0 0. instead of 4 0 0 0 ). the point indicates that the loop hasn't an EXACT 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. bar length, but a bit longer or shorter!
that s a problem when looping the loop over your arrange - it's not tight anymore at the end of your arrange! you have to look at higher zoom level.

i tried to deactivate zero crossing things, disabled the smart snap - have set it to bar, whatever, but with no success... :( i resampled the loop in logic, merged 2-3-4 loops recutted them - no success...

i don't know how to fix that!

btw... the same error is coming with "bouncing in place" (right click on the midi file and bounce to disk!) the midi file, which i dragged from maschine to the logic arrange window (most of the time it's shorter 0 3 3 239. instead of 1 0 0 0 ).

Am I the only one, who has got the problem?

exporting loops with other 3rd party plugins like guru, nerve (audio & midi / and bouncing midi in place) is working as expected!

i hope someone could help me... because i really LOVE MASCHINE, but that's a no go for my work flow... i hate work arounds... ;)

    have a nice weekend!

you need to have Loop Optimize checked. you will find this in the Export Audio pop up.

    sorry to say.... :(

but this was not the solution... the same loops were exported dragging an audio loop from maschine to my logic arrange window.
AND i have NO chance to cut the loops exported with maschine to a "tight" loop length.
as i explained in my first post above, e.g. exporting 1bar loops have always a length of 0 3 3 239. (<- with a dot behind the last number!).
what is the option "loop omtimize" for? checked or unchecked i have seen no differences. is it for "drag n drop" audio too? or only for "export audio" from the menu?
    very strange.

i tried this on different macs, but every time i get the same result.
i tried a FRESH and clean logic song (not my "autoload" song).
i have the latest drivers (maschine) and the latest updates (logic, os x.5.8).

i'll have a closer look later.

    isn't 0.3.3.239 basically 4 bars? a value .240 would result in 4.0.0.0 i think?

Loop Optimize is for Export Audio and Drag 'n' Drop.

to be honest, i have never used Loop Repeat Feature after using Drag 'n' Drop, i tend to use snap to place the Loops manually.

having said that i will have a look.... maybe a quick workaround is to use Logic's feature of expanding a Loop to fit the L and R Locators? that should result in a Loop of exactly 4 bars or whatever the length you want.

The workaround with cutting with L/R locators is working!
i have to add 1 bar to the loop, which i created in Maschine, then drag n drop to logic arrange window, then cut between L/R locator to the right loop length. that's ok! :)

i will post screenshots the next days, because i'm not in my studio one day.

it's ALWAYS NOT the right length over here :(

AND 0.3.3.239 isn't EXACT 4 bars. I'm working with the loop function in logic - that's how i work and arrange tracks. It's important to have exact loop length, otherwise the parts are not tight anymore at the end of a track.

BUT THANKS a lot for your response! :)

Just a devil's advocate question, is your Maschine project and Logic project at the exact same tempo? If not, try adjusting them to be the same (even though Logic will force Maschine to sync to its master tempo, a tempo difference could cause a slight difference in note lengths that you're experiencing there, not 100% sure that would be the cause, but just a thought).

How do you use the loop optimize for drag and drop. I only see the option for export audio.

that is the one that you use.... it works for Drag n Drop as well :)

    hey Ben!
I don't think that there is a sync/tempo problem, while using maschine as a au plugin in logic! it must be a "audio drag n dop" problem, otherwise the whole system would be unstable - running maschine using the maschine internal sequencer is ok for me, but not a solution for my workflow.

    here is my screenshot.
loaded a factory song - exported two 2 bar loops via audio drag n drop to logic 9 arrange window (loop optimize on!) - wrong length of both loops!

as i said - i can't work with the logic loop function and this is how i arrange.

-> workaround is add 1 bar IN maschine to your loop, then audio drag n drop to arrange window of logic, then move left/right locator to a length of your loop you want, then press "cut on left/right locator".

it would be great not to work like this... ;)

Thank you sir. I think i'm going with running Maschine as a stand alone and just draggin in the audio to Logic for furthur completion of the track..anyone else have a better work flow?

I didn't mean that it was out of sync, only that if the tempo you set in your project differs from the tempo in Logic, the note lengths that Maschine is writing may not be the same as when they are both set to the same tempo. I am not a midi expert, and midi may simply write as "x notes in length" rather than "x tics" or "x samples" or "x milliseconds", in which case my theory doesn't hold up.

You should be able to drag the right side of any midi region to resize it in Logic, thereby obviating the need to add an extra bar just to correct this. You may need to change the "snap to" setting in Logic from its default the one that snaps to exact note lengths instead. I am finding that snap setting more and more useful in Logic when drawing automation, as well.
