I've got a synth I'm working on and I keep getting EventLoop warnings popping up in a section that couldn't possibly contain an event loop - like not even close. It's got a knob and some audio at one end and audio output on the other - with not feedback anywhere in it.

The warnings come at (seemingly) completely random times.
I can always make it happen, but it seems like if I remove too much stuff fromt he synth, it stops happening - what's weird is that it doesn't really matter *what* I remove. It's almost like the event loop warning is more like an "event overload" warning when too much is going on at the same time. This seems even more like the case when you consider that the place where I'm getting the warning is right after an EtoETrig module that spits out a lot of events.

I'm just wondering if anyone else run into this yet with R4.1?

    - Thanks,
    CL

I've been getting this message to lately, and yes, I'm not making any event-loops either.
Didn't pay much attention to it though, apart from thinking: ' it's gonna crash very soon, better save my work'.

You mentioned EtoEtrig, i assume you mean AtoEtrig ?

I've got an AtoE in my .ens, I'll try and see if the messages keep coming after removing that module.

The event loop thing can get a bit jumpy. I suggest just turning it off... and only turn it on if an ensemble fails to load because of an event loop. Use it as a debug tool, but leave it off during construction.

You mean like clicking the 'globally disable event loops' in the preferences?
Should it be white= on and grey/blue= off ?

'cause it ain't on then and still the message appears when turning the modulo button: see jpg.

    beats me...

Yeah setting that parameter has no effect for me either as far as the warnings I'm getting are concerned. I can't seem to find anything to turn those warnings off.

Luckily one of the two places it was happening in this instrument I've removed as I've found a much simpler way of doing the same thing, but I still have another section where it's happening.

If you want to email it to me I can check if I get the warnings with it turned off. So far I've gotten them with it turned on but never with it off on my Mac.

    i get these messages also.
the weird thing is, the popup-message is trying to tell
me that the loop happens inside a 1-pole filter, which smoothes
the output of a frequency-counter. no event loops around.
    strange thing.

    best wishes

tripped me up too. you have to enable event loops in the instrument properties. don't ask me why the option is there as well.
