When running multiple instances of Kompakt player (EWQLSO), freezing an instance corrupts the other instances. For example, when I have, say, 5 instances of Kompakt EWQLSO Strings running (one for each string section), freezing one of them works just fine. However, the other instances will now play only about the fist second of each sample. It seems that the direct-from-disc engine (DFD) gets corrupted when the first instance is frozen. A workaround is to reload the samples in the non-frozen instances.

Whether this is a C4 or Kompakt bug I don't know, but it's quite annoying. As Native Instruments has stopped development of Kompakt, I doubt that any help would come from their side.

Just to point out, the reason I'm using freeze is to unload the vst-instance from memory - so exporting to disc won't do any good.

    Unrelated note
I stumbled across a discussion about the 3Gb switch regading Win and memory:

It actually does work! I'm running WinHome with 3Gb of memory. Before enabling the switch, all sorts of errors would come up when mem-usage approached 2Gb (which happens pretty quick with EWQLSO Platinum Pro XP). Enabling the switch now allows me to load more samples/VST instruments. Also, loading EWQLSO patches is now a bit faster.

NB: I have also posted this message in Sounds-online and Steinbergs forum.
