Problem with maschines Traktor mapping! Help :(

Hi,

So i just got my Maschine, and loaded up the traktor mapping in traktor and all seems good but when i go to activate a 4 bar loop then look to alter the length with the volume knob which the mapping suggests, traktor skips staright to a 1/32 bar and i can't lengthen it, its like the knob keeps on thinking i'm turn it left? Has this happened to anyone else?
And when i press button 2 up top to activate fx2 in chained mode, it starts the track again from the beginning! This is so annoying and i've no idea whats the problem?

Also i just realises knob 7 and 8 are way to sensitive, they go from 1 to 127 too quickly, can this be altered?

Are people here using it ok with traktor?

I have had a lot of problems with Maschine controlling Traktor too. All the mappings I have used to so far (Live and Massive) have been fine. But the Traktor mapping has been problematic. Are you in Traktor Pro or Traktor Scratch? I tried to rebuild my own using the same concept/layout as the mapping that came with the Maschine, but with more cues on the pads. For some reason the Rec scrolls through my playlist without stopping until I click it off, and then the list goes back to the top again! Weird stuff.

You can control the sensitivity of the knobs by holding shift. That will help.

I am going to try and build a mapping for the Maschine with the idea of using an external mixer and sound card with 2 outs for Traktor Scratch. If I am successful I will let you know.

For an immediate suggestion, I recommend deleting the midi mapping and reinstalling.

 

Thanks for your suggestion, can i ask you something? When you select the traktor template in the controller editor whereabouts does that mapping save to because i think i might be clicking on the wrong maschine mapping in native instruments which i got with traktor months ago, shouldn't the mapping that i've creted in the editor have like a up to date modified date on it? i use traktor pro. I've tried changing each knobs commands to relative mode and altered there sensitivity but i still get the smae problems. How could me rotating knob 2 in fx 1 restart deck A all the time. I can't see what i'm doing differently to anyone else, the video with traktor on NI's webpage i copy completely. Anyone any other ideas> Would it be traktor 1.2 maybe?

 

I have no idea. I think NI kinda dropped the ball on the Traktor+Maschine thing. It's a symptom of trying to incorporate as much as possible at the beginning—which was a valiant effort. I imagine in time everything will get sorted out and we will ahev amazing midi mappings and flawless Maschine software. I am looking forward to some time off in a few days to work on this template and then I will get back to you. Maybe it would be a good idea to start a thread in the Traktor forums and see if anyone else is making custom templates? It might not be Maschine's fault. But the Traktor forum might have some serious people who know about mad midi control. I usually just use control vinyl. Perhaps Traktor doesn't handle Midi that well, too. '

Do the mods have any opinion?

hmm kontrol x1 does look like the litle maschine's brother/ sister, who's up for a template copy ;-)

 

i don't own Traktor so i can't help. but i think NI is very keen on a tight Maschine Traktor integration, seeing that Maschine is an obvious "Production" tool for DJs to have with their Traktor stuff. so i don't think NI have dropped the ball on this one.

Thanks for the tips, i actually asked the question on the traktor forum but it got moved over here! I figured if it was the same problem with everybody i would have found a thread about it. yet i can't which leads me to believe that other maschines are working fine with traktor, or maybe no one is using it with traktor?
