    Easy mistake to make I think. I also found the new registration process didn't run that smoothly. Initially NI products came out as unauthorised even though they were (as did the whole Komplete bundle) which led me to go to the NI site and have to reauthorise them - I also had a couple of false starts with authorising KORE and consequently I now seem to have 2 authorisations of KORE and several other products by mistake. The funny thing is the KORE authorisation is even with two different hardware profiles even though I have only ever used it with the one PC and both authorisations were within a short space of time. I really could do with deleting one of those authorisations but I don't know which one to delete - I'm worried I might accidentally end up deleting the proper one like the OP.

    Seems that NI Service Center doesn't work so fine for me too. With this utility I discovered that have my Komplete 2 unauthorized, even if every component works fine!. Now after installing Komplete 3 Upgrade (buying Kore, for free) I tried to authorizing via NI CS but Komplete 2 & 3 are still unauthorized with Elektrik Piano & Guitar Rig. For these 2 last doesn't exist an independent authorizing method like before, so i have just 30 days of tries... madre mia! Also, to install everything in a fresh machine i deactivate my Kore authorization in the registration page!
    That's my situation. Sorry for my bad english

    NI CS is a bad tool at this time and will be improved (info from NI). FMO the authorization process is terrible (especialy system of hardware profiles).
    I have: Komplete 2, Kore , Komplete 3.

    Hi,

    I think this quote is a little misleading ...

    Of course we'll improve the Service Center, but for now, it made things easier in general.

    But keep in mind, that Komplete 2 and the first edition of Komplete 3 cannot be authorized initially with the Service Center because in these cases installation and registration are one process.

    I'm sure our registration support can help you with your issues.

    Best, Henning

    So should those of us with the first edition of Komplete 3 even bother with the Service Center? Apparently in some cases it causes more problems than it solves, from readiing this thread...What does it do that can't be done from the web-based Update Manager?

    Hello PhoenixGTR,

    the problems some users had were mostly related to certain Komplete Update constellations and would have occured independently from NI Service Center. NI Service Center itself runs very well, so that we did not receive many problem reports except for version conflicts with some installed Flash Player versions, where NISC launched empty or even crashed at startup.

    You can ask registration support to get the Service Center running.

    You can download the Kore 1.0.1 update (and all other updates) also through our update manager website.

    I'm not sure if I understand your problem:

    - you only have access to the update, if you already registered Kore

    - the Kore 1.0.1 update can be found in the update manager website if you choose Kore from the product list. What does it show for you?

    - again, please contact registration support to get the Service Center running, see the announcement in the Komplete forum start page to find the appropriate support form.

    OK,thats the problem I cant get it registered.NISC lauch a grey screen.
    I've already contacted registration support about the NI SC grey screen and got this strange reply:

    "Hi Jakob,
    it looks like your request has been resolved meanwhile. Please get in touch should you need more help.
    All the best
    Jens"
    I mailed back but havent got the answer yet.

    My final question is: will NI SC take care of the KORE registration if I get it to launch correctly?
    As I said, I've got the first edition of Komplete 3 installed already.

    Thanks for the quick replies!

    Hi Jakob,

    Your Service Center problem sounds like the one I had - ServiceCenter.exe couldn't find the Flash player plugin and gave me a grey screen or error message when I tried to open Servicecenter.exe. I fixed it by moving the flash plugin NPSWF32.dll (on a PC not sure what filename is for Mac) then changing the path of the FlashPluginDir in Settings.xml to the new Flash Plugin Location. After this modification I was able to bring the Service Center application up and register Kore. I'm sorry I can't be more specific as you are on a Mac and I a PC.

    Regards,

    Craig

    Hi Craig,

    I'm having the same problem. Could you elaborate on your solution? Moved the .dll where? Changed which settings.xml file? where is that located?

    It seems this may be a problem that NI is ignoring for the time being but I am running out of days before I have to reformat my PC to get rid of all the reg files and start all over again

    Hi Sashweed,

    I copied the npswf32.dll (after confirming that its 8.0.22 or greater as NI requires) to my C:\Program Files folder then changed the Flash Plugin reference location(FlashPluginDir) in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\NI Service Center\conf\Settings.xml from:

    <Setting>
    <Key>FlashPluginDir</Key>
    <Value>C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\</Value>
    </Setting>

    TO:

    <Setting>
    <Key>FlashPluginDir</Key>
    <Value>C:\Program Files\</Value>
    </Setting>

    After this change the service center worked properly.

    Some interesting notes: I have Flash Pro 8 (developer version)installed on my computer but after the Service Center application refused to work I installed the older Flash version on the Kore install disk for compatibility sake. My problem was not that I didn't have the correct version of Flash player as NI support is so quick to suggest, but that some code in the servicenter.exe was having trouble trying to use npswf32.dll in the default Settings.xml location of C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\. My guess is that once I changed the default location the servicenter.exe was able to see the new location of npswf32.dll and properly run the servicenter.swf though I don't know why... This solution was reported to NI tech support and they seemed happy to get it, but I have not seen a post by them telling anyone else about it.

    I hope it helps you!

    Craig

    Thanks Craig!
    That looks like that will work for me...haven't tried yet. I wanted to get NI to weigh in. The response I got from a helpful gentlemen there is as follows (perhaps this will save some other users some support request time)
    I think Service Center is set up to look in Internet Explorer. As we all know that browsers stinks, most of us use Mozilla...which Service Center probably doesn't look in. This is just my guess..I had up to date flash players sitting nicely in Mozilla's plug in folder and I don't have IE installed at all...

    Unfortunately, I'm still not able to install any software until Native weighs in on which order I am to install the software (Kore then Komplete or Komplete then Kore)
    to ensure all presets and sample libraries work AND make sure I qualify for my complete care 2006 offer.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    Most people do not use Mozilla, most people use IE6.

    Statistics for June 2006

    IE6 : 58.2%
    Mozilla : 2.2%

    Cheers Andy
