    Hi all,

I have 2 midi controllers (XP10's) that I use to control Traktor and I am having a problem assigning funktions. I have attached a website below that contains a picture of the controller as it best illustrates my problem.

The problem is with the jog dial on the left. The metal dial in the middle allows for scratching. So by touching the metal, the song stops and then I can scratch back and forth in the song. so far so good. the black dial on the outside is for pitching the song momentarily up during playback, like on a record, the idea being to be able to 'catch' the song I am mixing into.

Here is the problem however. The learn function in Traktor reads the same note for the metal plate as for the black dial. Stranger still is that when I then use the dial, only the metal plate reacts. so if I 'learn' Traktor to scratch with the outside wheel (which is of course the same note as the metal plate) then still only the metal plate works during playback.

    anyone got any ideas???

    the link is http://eks.fi

see http://eks.fi/index.php?page=xp10 if that seems more obvious.

I have found that when using the jog dials on the KDJ it will send more than one note, i.e. when you do a scratch it first sends a 'note' to switch scratch on and then sends output from CC type controller.

Maybe in your case you are seeing a one time note. Try learning but keep moving the platter in the same direction for the whole time and then click learn off... it's a bit tricky, but works.

if you don't understand what I am saying, sorry, it's difficult to explain.

    :)

PS: What system are you on.?

I am running Tiger on an iBook.

The XP10 is as your controller sending an 'on' note and then a output from CC controllers. I have tried doing as you described but the problem is the same I'm afraid.

    any other ideas?
