Problems with (beat) grid and (automatic) sync

    Hi,

Yesterday I was preparing a new set. What I noticed is that several tracks were not in the grid at all. Although I had it analyzed by Mixed in Key.

In my setup (Xone 96 - Xone K2 and Traktor) this is an undesirable situation because I have to be able to rely completely on the analysis and the (beat) grid of the track. If not, my tracks won't sync (automatically).

Is this a common problem or is it the track itself? I haven't had much trouble with that before in Rekorbox and without Mixed in Key…

    Kind regards,
    Roland Kieboom

Are you sure MiK did analyse the tracks correctly before you loaded them into Traktor? Maybe use Traktor the set the beat grid on these tracks and see if it makes a difference from MiK.

    Hi Tijn,

    Many thanks for you mail.

The process I went through is first analyzed the tracks in Platinum Notes. Then I loaded them into Traktor and analyzed them in the way it is explain in the video. After that I closed Traktor and then loaded the tracks into Mixed in Key. After that I opened Traktor again and I clicked the 'check consistency' option. In Mixed in Key I moved the analyzed tracks to another map in Mixed in Key and deleted the tracks in the map “recently added’.

What I see now is not a clean 4 beat grid. CUE Points are on a strange position and I loaded a similar track, one analyzed with MiK in deck A and the B the same track not analyzed in MiK. In deck A I see a lot of lines in the track at different distances from each other as a grid, in deck B the (grid) lines are neatly displayed at fixed distances from each other. Neatly 4 beats per Bar...

So I’am a little bit confused what could it be?

Bets to test with the same track. But if your track (deck B) that is analysed with Traktor shows a correct beat grid and your track analysed in MiK (deck A) does not, then I think you need to take a look at how MiK sets its beat grid. This might be an elastic beat grid set by MiK. I do not use MiK so I can not help you with this.

ah okay....thanks anyway. I will have look at MiK.

Another question, do you know why my waves in a deck in Traktor sometimes stutters?
