    Hi everyone.
first post here so hi to you all, and i will be sticking around so i look forward to meeting you all.

my question is about the multi display.
i have built a graph to show an envelope that runs from right to left, kindof like a spectrogram, fading off as it goes to the left.

the problem is that the graph often jumps around as if it is not updating quick enough. it doesnt always happen and its inconsistent in the way that it does it, which makes me think it might be a problem with the update rate or something.

the CPU runs at 12% max while it is glitching, but when it works smoothly it runs at about 6-7% max.
i have tried automatically updating it (repeatedly sending a 0 into my iterator) using two techniques.
one is using a pulse oscillator (with some math to make only 0 get through to the iterator), with the osc frequency set by the control rate. i have also tried multiplying this by everything from 0-2. this didnt work, but it was never the best way.
the other way i tried was to update it using my signal that controls Y followed by a value module. i really thought that would work, but the same thing happened.

is this a problem with CPU? or maybe the multi display is not designed to work with such a high number of objects all constantly moving? (i have 32 objects so far, but was planning to at least double that.

    any suggestions?

    thanks in advance.

    thanks for the reply.
i will upload a section of my ensemble when i get home from work.
in the mean time, have you ever known the display to act weird during high "frame rates" with a lot going on?

    thanks

32 objects shouldn't be the problem. the multidisplay can handle way more. like many thousands.
If you upload your structure I'd like to have a look into it. Ive been working on Multidisplays for a long time now.

thank you both so much for the replies!
here is a macro of the section i am having problems with.

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p0i2hpt29ousj9r/G2bDMkz0xq/envelope%20graph.mdl

i have added a basic envelope generator (with controls at the bottom) so you just have to press a key to see what im talking about.
what is in question here is the bottom graph. i want it to look like the top graph, but flowing from right to left with the current Y value always being on the right edge.
it worked beautifully when i only had 16 "frames" with only one selector (in monitor 1>Y maths), so maybe the problem is with my maths and/or routing somewhere in there?

thanks a lot for the help.

what exactly do you want to show in the bottom display?

i want it to be similar to the top one, but where the current value is always on the right boarder, with a tail moving from right to left. exactly how it is now but without all the glitches.
are you getting glitches? it could be my computer, its pretty old.
