problems with re-installing Komplete 8

    Hello to everybody here in the forum,

    I'm new to the forum, but have been using Komplete 8 for some years.

    Now I have a problem I can't solve myself, I guess only an advanced computer expert can help me.

    I have been running Komplete 8 on a Windows 7 Computer for some years. After a system crash and a following backup some components of Komplete couldn't be run.

    So I tried to re-install the whole DVD set, but the installer recognized the old installation and it didn't work.
    After that, I tried to uninstall all NI components (even with a special uninstaller for registry entries).

    Now, the installation process seems to work properly, all DVD's, and at the end it says it was successful.

    But I can't find any component except the Service Center and Battery (in the start menu are also only these two entries).
    I tried it about 10 times now.

    Does anybody have any idea where the problem is?

    From your post I'm assuming that you're still using Windows 7. And that you didn't do a fresh Windows install after the crash, right?

    Launch Service Center and have a look at the Overview Tab. Then check which products and install paths are listed there (to verify that only Battery was installed): https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210290265-What-is-Service-Center-

    Did you reboot your computer after the (registry) uninstall and before doing the new Komplete install?

    Thank you for you quick response!

    Yes, I'm still using Windows 7, I rebooted the whole system, which left some bugs here and there.

    After uninstalling, I always rebooted. In the Service Center everything looks fine, I think the only thing missing is Guitar Rig.

    I called the telephone support of NI some days ago, they advised me to get the new service center and a different uninstaller.
    But that made no difference. I think I will try to contact them by email again.

    If you can find the NI applications in the install path locations (which are listed in Service Center Overview-Tab), it might be the case that just the application shortcuts in the start menu, desktop, etc. didn't get created ...

    I see your point. It looks like only the libraries are listed in the service center.
    Maybe the main problem is that Kontakt 5 and the standalone things are not there.

    The problem has been solved, Thanks to the NI support.
    With the Microsoft Trouble Shooter everything from the former installation can be removed and Komplete can be installed anew.
