I had a hard disk fail that had a lot of my MP3s on it. I was able to recover the files, but I'd estimate that about 10% (out of 15,000 files) are corrupt. Unfortunately the only way I seem to have of finding the corrupt ones is by loading the MP3s one by one into a player and trying to play them. What's worse, some of the corrupt files will completely lock up Traktor with 99% CPU usage.

Is there a software tool out there that will scan through your MP3s and identify corrupt ones? Some CD burning software will do this when you convert MP3s to WAV, but it would not be practical to load 15,000 files, folder-by-folder, into Nero (or whatever)... I need something that can scan the disk, or similar.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Try looking for a program called EncSpot. Some of us here have had good luck with using it to spot problem files.

you should also have a look at Tidymp3 .
Don't worry about this 'command-line-thing' just put it into your /%windir/%\system32\ - folder, 'cd' the mp3-folderyou want to work on within the dos-prompt and run: "tidymp3 *.mp3". Thats it. But beware after running tidymp3 all your tag-data is lost and you have to re-tag each file in the folder. If you need some further assistance in tagging files after using tidymp3 just let me know ;) . There are several nice programs to do this job.
