Korg officially on board as a third party plug in developer as well as many others!

Looks like its going to be a free upgrade to all Reason 6 users

I think it would be quite good to have Maschine sitting inside Reason. At the very least get the drag and drop function working! ;)

Massive for Reason would pretty much put a wrap on any other DAW use in my book.

Yeah no doubt. The thing here is that Propellerhead have basically created their own environment for plug-ins and it's a completely new format...that said, if NI wanted to make Komplete available for Reason they would have to rebuild it from the ground up. But there are a lot of heads already jumping on board and started development.

Can't see NI developing yet another suite of plugins (on top of VST, AU, RTAs and AAX) just for the slice of the market that owns (or wants to own) both Reason and Maschine.

And a non industry standard, proprietary one at that. Still, Propellorheads need their 30% cut of course.

But hey, stranger things have happened.

I would actually like to see massive and reaktor available in reason.

Apparently a big part of the development effort was spend to ensure that VST devs can just recompile their current code using the propellerhads development tools and it will work in the new rack format. Apparently they had some of the sugar bytes code up and running in under 30 minutes from first looking at it.

Thanks. Makes you wonder why they didn't just support VSTs then. Oh hang on. Money.

You've already been using it if you use Reason 6, the three new devices are based on racks. ;)

better than this would be if Maschine had rewire - problem solved, also would give us better and proper REX functionality, sidechaining without massive CPU use etc.

Don't forget stability. Reason is the one thing I use that doesn't crash. Out of all the different pluggin formats I've used (RTAS, AU, VST, TDM) VST is the most buggy and causes more crashes.

So now you want rack's for maschine. Now they develop products for the rack and that takes away the time to create reaktor 6 and the komplete line. Then you ask why it takes long for certain products.

If you want rewire what's wrong with the rewire vst plugin? As for money the plugins can be free, it's up tp the dev to set the price. Urs has said that the Reason version will cost less and there might be some cross grade offer for existing customers.

Check out the bitspeek demo anyway [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGSqPz9qLTo"]Bitspeek Rack Extension Preview - YouTube[/ame]

Props is on crack. They want to keep a proprietary system and instead of using the same standard the whole industry has adopted, they want to develop yet a new one and make others re compile and bug test their plugs. I think this is a selfish and cruel thing to do to their customers that have been asking for VST support for years.

I personally don't want NI supporting or wasting time on this. I think a few smaller devs will jump on this to make few quick dollars from Reason users and get an edge. Maybe NI will too but I would rather they focus on other things. There is enough formats to support already. Would rather they add rewire to Maschine so more can use Maschine stand alone and pipe audio into any supporting app they want.

Hi, quick question on this. What would it take to make Reason and Maschine communicate via rewire? Thanks.

It would be nice if Reaktor player wouldn't crash Maschine nearly everytime I change a preset on it. Maybe proprietary plugins isn't such a bad idea.
