What is the proper settings in Traktor Pro so that the left deck audio is on channel 1 and the right deck audio output is on channel 2... so when all audio goes in to my Denon mixer, I'm getting my audio assignements correct?

    thanks

Have you enabled the Denon as the soundcard and the controller in prefs.
Looking at the side panel (wierd) there is only a USB connection. So what do you see in Output Routings for Channel 1&2 (Deck A) and Channel 3&4 (Deck B) ?

yes I have the DNHC4500 selected. But in the Traktor Prefs section... what should be in "output routing" and "input routing". On the side panel of the Denon, there is one USB, a L/R 1 output and a L/R 2 output going to my Denon Mixer.

In "Output Routings" I see MIXING MODE - EXTERNAL with OUTPUT CHANNEL A - LEFT/DNHC4500 O and RIGHT/DNHC4500. Everything else shows DISCONNECTED. Anytime I try to add the DNHC4500 to another channel... they unselect the ones above.

Is there a thread on this forum with all suggested settings for the Denon DNHC 4500?
    ---
you asked me about Channels 1 & 2. I only see Channels A & B. (same thing?) Should I be in "External" mode or "Internal" mode?

Do I have to do anything with input routing? or output routing? Traktor has to have some documentation on this? Don't they?

Thanks Karlos... I appreciate the effort. BUT... the settings are not the same for the MAC and the Traktor Pro version. For instance, in the Audio Output settings, there is no Deck B R/L settings to even choose from. I set the DECK A to R/L and then when I choose DECK B, (Channel B) the settings for DECK go bye, bye.

What would be nice, is if there was a guide for setting this up with a MAC, DNHC 4500, and Traktor Pro 1.1.1

I find this with almost ALL software providers... they create a manual with only ONE setup. The setup that 60% of their buyers use. But the other 40% of their buyers that are using another setup, are left to spend the next year guessing.

    Help!

So NI goes thru all the trouble to make sure that the Traktor Pro is "native" to the DN-HC4500... but there is NO documentation for us DJ Doughheads to use so that we can hook it all up and start playing music.

This is the reason I gave up on PC's and PCDJ-FX, PCDJ-DEX, and PCDJ-Reflex. Spending TOO MUCH TIME "configuring crap and not enough time actually playing music.

Kind of like buying a car so that you can drive it to work everyday, and spending 90% of your time trying to make it run correctly. That's not why we purchased DJ software.

We got people that wanna' dance foo!

    :)

I got my hc4500 controller running with my MAC & tpro no prob. NI did a pretty good job with their default tsi for 1.1.

I had the same routing issue as you did but I can't remember what I did though (it was back in July 08 with T3).

Do you have the latest firmware for your controller?

@wyley, can you give it a try to tell us how you made your hc4500 work with your mac and traktor pro 1.1.1?
Does the denon display work with traktor pro?

i have been trying it with traktor's start setup wizard for ours now.
    no result. :-(
Manually i can't get it to work either.
My denon does work with serato and virtualdj, but i like the new traktor's pro interface most.

I don't have my hc4500 anymore it traded it in for a pair of dns1200 but I did have kinda the same issue setting these up.

Update your firmware first if you haven't already.

Turn on your controller first, the go to Applications-Utilities-Audio Midi setup-Midi devices and see if your device is there, if not rescan midi, if still no then go to the denon forums for help.

If it is there then go to the Audio Devices and select your hc4500 as your out. You should see all your outs (4 of them) if not then go to the denon forums for help.

If it's all there then restart your computer, turn on your controller then open Tpro and run the setup wizard or do it manually.

Display on the controller is not there but will come when NI offers HID support for their traktor ready controllers which might not be far away.

I had to open/close, turn on/off and restart a couple of times to get up and running.
