I did a search in the forum and didn't find anything on the subject...

Are there any patches out there in the web that one could download from the original prophet-5, or even other prophets? I did find a file in sysex format on a "tribute" page to prophet 5 but I can't seem to be able to load it into the pro-53.

Also, that would be a great addition to a future update (hopefully it will come at some point) to the software, the ability to load patches from many prophets, like prophet VS etc...

I think, you can receive sys-Ex files only, if you connect a
real Prophet-5 to your PC (and I don't know, if this is functioning).
But, as I also have Arturia's Prophet V, those Factory presets, which were included, have been the less inspiring sounds, I came along for this synth (of cource just my 2 cents).
Also, there doesn't seem to be that much other sounds available for the Prophet-5 in sys-Ex format (if I remind correctly, since I also have looked around for some more sounds).
So don't worry too much about it.
And regarding the Prophet VS, well, this is quite a different beast, so I think, there won't be ever a possibility to load
any patches from it into the Pro53.

Losan, so what do you say, Arturia or Pro-53? And what about the VS... I never saw it running...

    Well, I like both...
The Pro-53 was one of the first synths, I came along, which lead me to the whole NI stuff, and I still like it.
Later I bought the Arturia Prophet V mostly for the VS engine and especially for the Hybrid Mode, where you can combine different
Modules of the Prophet 5 and the Prophet VS engines (Osc, Filter, Routing). This mode is unique to the Arturia Prophet V, something that doesn't has a equivalent with the classic hardware synths.
(Btw, with the Factory sounds I mentioned above, I meant the
original Prophet 5 Factory sounds, which are included in the Arturia Prophet V, which seemed to me less inspiring.
I did not mean the whole Factory content for it, there are of course a lot more presets included with this plugin.
    Just to be clear)

    Regarding the Prophet VS:
It uses the so called Vector Synthesis (some kind of Wavetable synthesis), with 4 Osc, each with 96 waveforms to choose from, those Osc can then be mixed via a joystick or via a mixer envelope. In contrast to the subtractive Prophet 5 this synth creates more "digital", "cold" sounds.
Because of the different synthesis types, this is why I meant, you wouldn't be able to import Prophet VS sounds into Pro-53.

And if you're interested in some history of all those classic synths, here's a nice webpage, you might like:

    Hey Vinitchi,

I have downloaded all the original 120 factory patches from my Prophet 5 (rev 3.3.) and converted them into a .p5a file. The file opens up perfectly in Pro53.

Remember...the original Prophet 5 had no on-board effects so all of the patches are bone dry.

As far as sound quality difference between playing the patches back from Pro53 vs playing the same patch from the Prophet 5....the results are very slight....in a dark way. All the patches playing back through the Pro53 are much darker sounding. Although opening the Cutoff Filter on the Pro53 does make the sound brighter, it doesn't "fix" the original tone problem.

What's your email address and I'll email the file.

    Hey Joel,

Why not upload the presets to the library so all of you could access it? That would be really cool!

I'm trying to send you a personal message but this option seems not be enabled in your profile.

I'm not sure if I should post my email here ... (?)

    Thanks a lot,

    V.

    Vinitchi,

I've been trying to upload the file. But, I keep getting an error.

It maybe because I'm trying to upload is a single .zip file that contains all 120 patches.

Is this possible? Or do I have to upload each patch individually?

Otherwise, I can't figure out why the "system" wont accept my upload.

The ZIP must contain one path, no subpathes.
Sometimes when more than 50 files inside the zip, you get an error. Please make banks!

    Joel,

I wouldn't know why the file is not being uploaded but maybe what Paule wrote makes sense. And yes, please, upload the banks!

    Thanks,

    V.

Trust me...I'm trying....I have even emailed NI Techsupport and attached the .zip file for them to analyze to try to figure out why the file is not loading. OH..of course, I have yet to hear back from any anyone at NI Techsupport.

    Joel,

I undertand. Why don't you update your profile page and tick in the option where I can send you a private message... that way I will send yo my email and you could send me the file directly...

    Thanks so much sir!

(By the way, the synths you list on your profile are an analog dream come true...)
