didn't you say that with Reaktor ;)

but seriously, as i have been using NI Software for 10 years, i can honestly say that they are improving.... and many of you won't believe me, but it is true.

i really believe that the developers are very passionate about Maschine and are interested in hearing what users want for future Maschine Updates. at the moment, NI are working hard on the 1.1 update, and they want it to be as good as possible before releasing it.

fwiw, i never thought they would grant a Maschine beta test, but they have.... it might be taking longer than expected to happen, but it will, so please be patient ;)

I think the Maschine software is great I must admit, I have never had it crash.

Give me pattern/scene changes from midi and I will be over the moon.

They have been waiting for an upgrade to he software I work on for over two years I'm glad we don't have a forum!

P.S. Everyone - I was joking in my original post and having a dig at the whiners in this thread.

My sarcasm has been taken the wrong way a few times lately on the information super dirt-track so I thought I should make this clear.

The dog is still here, do not worry.

Hey BobTheDog. If Maschine did what they said it would I don't think anyone would be complaining. I don't call spending 600 and some change on something that is a vsti but doesn't really work well as a vsti complaining.

It's sad to see everybody so angry and desperate... Please hire some more programmers, NI!

    Hey euklides,

i think too that its pretty sad to see so much anger here on the forum, as the NI Forum is one of the few forums where people are helping each other. The main reason seems to be that a few people cant wait a few more weeks until the public beta or the final version will be released. Im pretty sure NI will do their best to push Maschine even further of what i can do now, which i think is pretty awesome already. So a few more weeks and everything should be fine.

    Cheers

What functionality is missing in Maschine from the NI marketing info then?

I think the thing that some people are frustrated with is the plug-in functionality. I think Maschine is pretty awesome but currently I feel it does fall down in plug-in mode. I don't find it easy to use within Ableton and I usually bounce all my maschine tracks to audio instead of trying to use program changes messages, I find they are too flaky. This might not be ideal but works decent for me.

I'm not personally upset about this as I imagine eventually 1.1 and future updates will come out which will improve the VST experience; and I read this thread prior to my purchase so was expecting DAW integration to potentially be awkward.

NI's marketing / advertising team I think is being a little disingenuous with statements like "Maschine provides seamless integration as a plug-in to your host sequencer" but I don't blame the programmers or product managers over that, I'm sure they're doing their best to make Maschine a great product. I can see how some people might feel they were misled about how easy DAW integration would be.

Yeah well I think Nico44 answered that question Bob. Anyway my boy let me barrow his MPC2500 till they get around to releasing the dopest update of all time. If you don't use an MPC then you wouldn't know what I was talking about Bob if you did then you would but I don't think you do. I konw AH's assume but whatever. Love you NI but now I am lost in the flow again but it ain't with Maschine right now it's with a 2500. Remember it's not what you use but how you use it but it has to work.

yeah really though. it shouldn't be much longer for the public beta. i can really only imagine the extra time means that they are taking things very seriously maybe adding more to the update and being very sure of bugs being exterminated. I have my mpc still sitting right next to maschine in the studio but I haven't really needed to turn it on. however I HAVE BEEN USING A LOT OF WORK-AROUNDS which absolutely does make me not be lost in the flow. I'm not mad though. I'm just aware that really i (as all of us are) an early adopter and that comes with a bit of growing pains. when i bought maschine i was aware of a few of it's short commings. I still jumped to the maschine instead of getting a different newer mpc/mv etc. because I am looking toward the future not what is current. i want to be ahead of the curve and right now maschine (and to some extent a product like motu's bpm even though i think doesn't show the same promise do to lack of a dedicated controller) is the way forward. I bought maschine for the future not for the past. though i was taken a bit by surprise by the lack of a few very basic assumed features. so i feel the pain as everyone else does. but lets try not to force out a product thats not stable. I'd rather wait an extra few weeks for something great than have to day what will make me cry.
