purchased PRO GR4 serial not working?

Installed Sonar X1 and GR4 LE

Bought the correct upgrade on the NI site and had a new serial emailed to me. When I enter it I get:

"The update/upgrade could not be activated because your User Account does not contain the appropriate base product."

So GR4 is running as LE at the moment and the upgrade I paid 89euro for is not working

Any help appreciated - the demo sounds great!

 

if it's saying base product, i think it means the LE cant be upgraded to PRO. i don't know if this is how it is, but from what they're saying, that's what it sounds like...

contact support and ask for a refund..! if only NI had less flash and more sensible info on their website, everyone would be happy.

sorry, my bad, i just checked the website.. it says there's an upgrade from LE to PRO... are you sure that's the one you bought..? coz then it should work.. i wonder what the base product thing is about..?

 

Yeah - I was pretty careful about getting the right updgrade (slightly dearer one) as I bought the upgrade directly form NI site WHILE I was still downloading Sonar X1 for install.

My thought was as I ran Sonar X1 first time it would ask for serial and I would simply use the NI upgrade one to unlock the full program (PRO).

Either way I now have GR4LE installed, full demo available for 30mins and two serials in my inbox - a Cakewalk one for LE and a89 euro upgrade from NI that should unlock the PRO version but doesn't allow it "...as the base product is incorrect.."

I've done everything by the book as far as I can see (Sonar X1 upgrade form Sonar 8.5 - bought GR4 PRO upgrade from NI and attempted install)

I have 10 days off over xmas - the goal was to be recording and instead I'm chasing NI registration support

 

i know this is not to be said on this forum, but since you've paid for the software, and the parent company can do nothing to make it work, just crack it. getting it to work after buying the thing is more important that ethics.

 

OK so I've just done the same but bought GR4Pro through cakewalk but what you must do is.

Install LE with X1.
Register LE with the serial Cakewalk give you for LE with X1
Download and install the 4.1.1 update
Convert to Full Demo mode from the help menu
Activate using the new serial for GR4Pro full version
