I read you will have quantitized scene changing, which is great! I Love the idea of preswitching a scene and it changing at the end of the bar.

    my other questions are

    a) what about patterns? I love the ability to change patterns mid scene for live expressive play, but is there also a ability to change patterns at the end of the bar quantitized?

    b) what about solo and mutes? would it also be feasable or could you consider un-mutes quantitized as well? hold shift mute and hit a pad and it mutes or unmutes on the next bar.

hold shift mute and click a pattern and it mutes and unmutes on the next bar.

    etc.

I also want to stress that I would love for it not to be 1 way or the other... can it be both? can I have quantitized scene changing or pattern changing with a modifier key, but still be able to expressivly live play and change scenes without the modifier key?

i don't want to have to decide to fully quantitize all scenes and bars, but I would like to option to if the song or section requires it live.

    2) -------------------------

my knobs are not giving me 100% accurate turns on the software.. they spin very very smoothly..

but when I adjust the pitch for example. the pitch jumps values in incrments of random #'s. not by +1 or -1

like pitch: 0% +2 + 5 +8 i wanna go back to zero, sometimes i can't get it back, it goes back to 7, then 4, then -1, then 2, 5, 1, etc.. i spin it but don't get +1 -1 values, i get jumps... its software, not the knob.. the knob is beautiful :D

Do you know if the knob resolution will be adjusted in the future update

    3) - as others have mentioned. would like the ability to have a track auto zoom out when I change length from 1 to 4, right now i have to zoom out on my own. can there be a option that snaps the width and height to length? so if its 16 length, it zooms out to fill the whole thing? even if its small.

    4) - I understand there is no midi and it makes sense because how can you change patterns and scenes on the fly and keep a linear playhead like a DAW. the playhead is almost virtual in a way inside the maschine. you switch patterns and it switches lengths and loops, etc... for me I just want these midi features:

    pattern change
    scene change
    pattern mute
    individual pad mutes

and would love a drag and drop import midi feature.

also! how do you turn off the Controller! there is no off button, so after I am done using it I pull the USB plug on the back and my LCD screens look like death. is there a proper power off function?

a lot of questions and points  ;)

at the moment there is no quantize for changing patterns and/or Mute and solo. but i agree, that would be nice

as far as i know you can't have quantized and unquantized at the same time for changing scenes. but you can change your option to suit the moment.

press down shift when you turn a knob to get a smaller resolution.

why do you need to turn off the Controller? i would suggest not removing the USB cable whilst you are using maschine of a Music Software.

This may come as a surprise to you, but you can use your computer for other things than making music. :p A fully lit Maschine controller sure looks nice, but when I'm not making music, I'd like to turn it off too. ;)

On Windows, there's two things you need to do to shut off the controller:

    1) Bring up Task Manager and kill the process named NIHardwareService. Otherwise, you won't be able to shut the driver off.
    2) Then, use the safely remove hardware icon to shut off the Maschine controller driver.

The only problem is that then it won't wake up properly. The best thing to do is to just leave it plugged in- the upcoming update does a much better job of shutting the controller down when not in use.

The new stand-by mode (no lights + dimmed screens) is fine. I don't feel the need to shut the controller off anymore when I'm not making music.
