question about knob/fader parameters...

Hi, I am making an ensemble using the grain cloud sampler, and I would like the "Pos" control to have a maximum value determined by the length of the sample currently being used. The grain cloud sends out an event displaying the length of the sample that is currently being used: is it possible to somehow use this value as the maximum value of the position control ( that way the positions max value would change dynamically when another sample is selected, and would be less of a pain then having to physically enter a new max value in the property dialog...)??? Hope this makes sense...

static: give the pos knob a value range from 0-1 and multiply with the sampler's lng output
dynamic: e.g. ramp osc, with A input = lng
