When previewing sounds to be loaded into cells, is there a way to select multiple sounds at once (from the upper left box where sounds are located and auditioned) and "add" them to the box below and then bring them into your battery cells??? Or must you do what I have to do and select one sound at a time, add it (which then bumps your folder of sounds back to the beginning) and then scroll back to where you were and continue searching for sounds you want to add and load. This seems like such a BASIC feature that I feel like I must be missing something.

If there is no way to do this I'm begging you guys at NI to add this to your list of improvements. As much as I love this program, this is SUCH a frustrating waste of precious creative time.

    thanks in advance...

I should say that I'm using Battery within Pro Tools (I'm not sure that this matters but forgot to mention it)

    thanks...

    hi chris,

i'm on a mac... and i should also say that i'm using the 'studio collection' version of battery as a rtas plugin-not the standalone version. i think this matters because i posted this question over at the digi site and got a couple of responses saying i could just drag and drop sounds onto cells from the finder but that doesn't work for me either. and both the guys that told me this were using the standalone version.

thanks in advance for ANY help!!!

on the mac if you click the add cells option you should be presented with a dialog box that has a way to add sounds to a collection (bottom half) while navigating your folder on the top half.. are you clicking on the add cells option?

    chris,

sorry, i really didn't follow you. here's the best i can do to describe what's up. while selecting sounds from my folder (top half) i can only highlight and 'add' one sound at a time. when i highlight a sound i will hit the 'add' button (i get no dialogue box when i do this) and that sound is then added to, as you put it, the 'collection' (bottom half). once that happens the cursor, or 'highlighter' in the top half jumps back to the very first sound in the folder.

what i want to know is: is there a way to 'highlight' more than one sound at a time from my folder of sounds (top half) and 'add' them all at once to the collection in the bottom half???

i'm assumming there's no way around the cursor jumping back to the top but i sure do hope this is a fix in future additions.

    peace

oh_now i see, you already have the dialog box open for adding the cells (that I was referring too).. you just want to be able to shift select or select multiple sounds and then add.. NOPE.. not like that on the mac.. . (at least not in battery)

You can Add All, or just drag multiple selected sounds from the finder on to batteries cells (that is what i do), but not from this dialog.

The reason I asked if you were mac or pc is because on the mac you have a way to pool your imported sounds into the bottom half window “collection” while in this dialog, but on the PC you can not do this, BUT, on the pc-> you can shift select (or control select) multiple sounds.. both have flaws, but until we get an update that is the definitive answer for you.

i really hope that this is fixed in an update. i'm still trying to figure out the multiple out issue. i can't believe there's no manual anywhere for battery!!! kinda crazy.

    peace...

Well fik me old mate, there we have it...seems funny that so much work has obviously been spent on a feature (the load sounds dialog) for it to be undone by such a silly thing like it springing back to the beginning after each choice, kind of defeats the object I'd say...but congratulations and a thangyouverymuch go to Chris and his amazing drag straight from the finder, which even works for layering, thus rendering the load sounds dialog now completeley obsolete ....
    can't say I'll miss it...
    thanks to you all
