    Hello.

Let's say I want to sell my Traktor Scratch PRO 1 package. How do I remove it from my NI account so that the new owner can register it?

Also if I upgrade to Traktor Scratch PRO 2 using the Traktor Scratch Pro 2 Hardware upgrade, can I after sell the Traktor Scratch PRO 1 package?

    Thank you!

I will answer you second question.

In order to qualify for the upgrade you have to own the qualifying product. The 2 versions are considered one product. So you cannot sell your TSP1 and keep TSP2.

So the answer to you first question is you can't because you need to keep it.

OK, then let's say that I only want to sell Traktor. How do I proceed?

@ weedska: The person you bought this from probably didn't have anything else attached to his/her account (other NI products dependent on TSP).

In the OP's case, if he was to simply change over his contact info in oder to sell TSP, he wouldn't be able to upgrade to TSP2 because TSP is not found on his account. If he was to upgrade first and then sell, he would lose both by switching over the ownership info.

Frankly this is the biggest (and only) shortcoming in this product launch. I have a full TSP1 setup. I have paid $450 for an upgrade that includes a new version of everything. SO now I have 2 of everything.

NI should allow someone to buy my TSP1 setup from me (helps me afford the upgrade). Then charge them a MUCH more reasonable price to buy the TSP1 software. They make money on both transactions. Both customers win.

You will need to fill out a Transfer of Ownership form and fax it to NI. They only accept faxes.

Here is a copy of the form.

    Transfer of Ownership:

    Confirmation

I .............................. (please enter name and address) herewith confirm that I have sold and transfered my NI-product(s) .............................. (please enter product name) with the serial number .............................. (please enter serial number) to .............................. (please enter name and address).

I surrender all rights of use of the NI-product(s) to the buyer. Please delete my product registration so the new buyer can re-register it.

I affirm that I handed the original software over to the buyer and destroyed or deleted all copies of the Licence software as well as all pertinent documentations completely.

You can still sell you audio 8/hardware. You just need to keep the TSP1 license code.

i recently just bought my traktor scratch pro off of someone from ebay, and he just gave me his login details so i installed everything like that.

should i get him to fill out one of those fax sheets then?

what happens once ive faxed this off, will i get kicked out of Traktor and made to re-install?

It's not very secure as the seller has all the details too still. I would get him to fill one in.

You should be able to just run service centre using your own details and reregister the software that way without having to reinstall anything once the transfer has gone through.

Count Zero, must the ownership transfer form be faxed to Berlin? Or is it possible to fax it to the US office instead?

@ctg23... hope he does. Until he does, he still technically has control over software and can continue to use it or log in and change the details at any time.

There seems to be confusion under change of ownership. Please confirm NI but to unregister the software on your NI account you just need to send in a support email to unregister. Then the new owner can register the new software on the account.
No transfer of ownership fax is needed as i have done this before.
For some reason some of your support staff are still suggesting the old transfer of ownership form.

well i sent NI an email asking what i should do and they sent me this form to fill out. slightly different from the one posted and this one doesnt actually say who it should be transfered to, so ive asked the guy to fill out both the old form and new one to help things along

also note that the fax number is slightly different
for outside us fax to +49.30.61 10 35-2400
if inside the us or canada, fax +1.323.372-3676

    heres the form

    Confirmation

I,................................................................................................. (please enter name and address), herewith request to delete the registration data for the products:

    Product Name Serial Number

    .................................................... ......................................

    Product Name Serial Number

    .................................................... ......................................

    Product Name Serial Number

    .................................................... ......................................

Please note that the licence agreements of some manufactureres prohibit a license transfer. We recommend reading the licencse agreement prior to a license transfer and contact the manufacturer directly if necessary.

    Date Signature

    .................................................... ......................................

ive got both copies that the seller has filled out so im sending it across now and asked NI to email me once they receive it so i know its gone through ok.

will update this thread at the next stage
    ---
also i want to sell my x1 controller (i have a spare one i wont use)

do i need to go through all this bother for selling that as well?

(i cant remember if there was liscenses when i installed it ages ago?)
    ---
    well that was quick!
in reply to my post above, NI have just replied to me saying they have now deleted the previous owners details and i can now register it to my name.

You are confusing 2 different instances.

    (a)Unregister/Register
    (b) Transfer of Ownership. These are 2 different approaches and you have failed to recognise this.

    (a)
If a user wishes to sell his product he can indeed email NI and unregister it.
The new buyer then has to register it. Thus involving 2 processes.

    (b)
If a user has found a buyer before he unregisters he can simply transfer the ownership by using the transfer form. This form HAS to be faxed. This involves one process.

The Moderator was correct in his statement.

So why not keep it simple and just unregister the software by email? saves on faxes and hassle.

well either way now, my product is unregistered and ready to sell :)

if i wanted to sell my X1 as well do i need to go through the same motions?
i cant remember if i had to register my serial number and user details when i installed mine as it was quite some time ago

No, your X1 is not registered. You can sell it at anytime.

Because, as i pointed out Transfer of Ownership is one process.
A fax is not that much hassle is it?
