Thinking buying those two, but I have to know something about them first:
Am I limited to the ensemble sets that come built in it?
Can't I build my own ensembles?
In the Cuba series I saw not all the instruments are available as solo instruments.
And on the West africa series I haven't done enough research but I assume the situation there isn't better.

And I also want to know whether the above are good for building my own loops from scratch, or only got a great built in loops but not greatly programmable.

Yes, you're limited to what comes with it as far as ensembles, however there are single patches so you can mix and match. All sequences are programmable.

All of the recorded percussion instruments come in various types which you can choose in the ensembles (e.g. there are seven different djembes).
As for the loops, everything can be programmed from scratch using the in-build pattern player.
    Hope this helps,

Is there a way to isolate the Guiro?

Yes, you have a separate keyboard area for each percussion in the ensemble.

Please read the manual for the library to understand what it offers, you can freely download it on the product page (scroll to the bottom).

I'm interested in using these programs to score in Sibelius. It seems that since there is a midi keyboard attached to the program, Sibelius should be able to sample the notes using the "melodic" scale used by the keyboard as the reference point, allowing me to write a percussive "melody" on a score, once I have set up the percussive ensemble and know which percussive strike correlates to which key on the keyboard. Is this feasible or can I only use the programs to write the grooves then export it?
