    Hello all,

I am actually a Serato user, but I am currently mulling over the decision to move to Traktor. I do have a couple of questions if any of you do not mind answering.

    1. How is the CPU load? I use a MacBook i7 to play out, but my spare is an older white Macbook (2.16 Core2Duo). Will my older MacBook be enough to handle TSP2 while running FX and utilizing the sample bays?

    2. Is there any way I can take my current Serato library and sync it to Traktor's library? Maybe I'm just being lazy, but I hate using iTunes and I am not looking forward to maintaining 2 libraries.

    3. What is the licensing scheme? I know I can only install on 2 different PCs, but does the software get married to the hardware in any way? For instance, if one of my friends has a S4, and I have a TSP2 license, can I just plug into his controller? Also, at a club, can I just plug into any hardware they might have installed (S4, Audio 10, Pioneer Nexus)?

    4. I am between purchasing an S4 or TSP2. What do you all think is the better option? Does the S4 come with a full copy of TSP2?

As a long time Serato user, I am thoroughly impressed by TSP2. My ideal situation is to have both. I realize that there is a search function on the forum, but once again, my laziness kicked in.

Thanks in advance....and for the record, I will probably end up purchasing some form of Traktor anyways, since I'm such a gearhead...

    1. CPU use is not bad. I actually run one of my copies of traktor on a mac mini with similar specs. I don't have any complaints about it. It works, some times things are visually jumpy; but no sound issues.

    2. Can't help you here.

    3. Per the EULA, NI allows each copy of Traktor to be installed on two computers. There is no marrying to hardware of any sort. So, if you take your macbook to a friend's to use their gear you are fine.

    4. Yes, the S4 comes with TP2. If the retail box still as TP1 included with it you can upgrade for free to TP2.

    1. Can help there I use PC.

    2. There is a utility you can get which copies over your serato library. Note this is a one shot process and doesn't keep them synced. You would have to make changes in Serato and copy over again. AFAIK.

    3. You will be able to plug into and use and certified hardware for TSP2. Note that it must be certified hardware. But as long as it is you can swop around as you will.

    4. NO. The S4 comes with S4 software. From the next batches on it will come with TP2. Current S4 software is eligable for a free upgrade to TP2
If you want TSP2 you will need to upgrade. S4 users currently get a special $139 upgrade price to get TSP2 on the S4.
