I've been using Traktor since version 2.5.3 and since upgrading to 3, have been kinda overwhelmed with all of the features and effects. I'm just curious as to what features and effects that are most used by House and Hip-Hop DJ's. I mainly use the loop function, and that's it! I would like to get the most for my money! :D

    I'm an electro/house DJ, and I use about 85% of Traktor's possibilities (that I'm aware of ;) ).

for transitions, I most commonly use the EQ's, obviously, and Low kill, or Hi/Lopass filters, or a Delay Freeze. but I use all effects at some point, for the sake of variety.

I use beatjump of 1 to sync the phrases of two tracks, and larger beatjumps to skip long introductions or unwanted sections seamlessly.

I loop a lot, especially when fading into a song, so it doesn't escape me while I'm mixing it in or out. I have locked loops on several of my most common tracks.

I don't use cue points too much though, due partially to the fact that I'm forced to use a high latency, and because it just doesn't really correspond to my mixing style.

you'll get used to it! I know it's overwhelming at first, but the features are fantastic. you'll learn to love them all.

the one thing I would appreciate is a strobe effect like in Torq...
but I'm definitely not complaining :D

Key lock is always on. I do a lot of loops and I have load and cue points set all over the place. I use flanger and the filters a lot, and I also like to beatjump every once in a while. From now on, when I use beatmasher, I will think of you, native_girl (as I sip my Bailey's).
