I've got a question regarding the "snapshot" module (not to be confused with the ever-popular "snap value" module). . . I understand how to recall a snapshot with the module's built-in text menu selector, but how do you setup the store, recall, and snap select inputs of the snapshot module to allow event/audio signals to recall snapshots?

Here's a .jpeg of the super-simplified setup I was using to "explore" the snapshot module - just trying to get a fader to jump around when I store and recall different snapshots using the "store" and "recall" buttons I setup - but no luck of course, it doesn't work at all.

Is there anybody out there that can shed some light on the subject? How do I trigger the recall of snapshots with external events?

thanks to anyone who can help,

    Hi weeklyhaircut,

first: the signal values at the Snp (snapshot) and Bnk (bank) inputs determine the snapshot and bank number. if then an event arrives at Recl (recall) the snapshot that is specified by the Snp and Bnk is being recalled. Analog for St (store) input. if an event arrives at A (slot a, see snapshots browser in reaktor) the snapshot that is specified by the Snp and Bnk is put in slot a (but not recalled or stored, it's just put in slot a!!!). Analog for B (slot b). You can use your fader to morph between the two snapshots (Mph morph input).

Very soon now i will release my first instrument, it's called - Tada! - "SnapShotMorph". You can select the slots, recall snapshots, morph manually, via MIDI, via an implemented autofader (with loop-functionally - Now that was a tough one to program...) and you have lots of different morphing curves to make the fade... Hang on!

Thanks yozzari, your description echoes what the manual says - which makes perfect sense, but I have knobs setup to select snap/bank values and buttons to send events to trigger recall and store (as the jpeg demonstrates), but I can't get the recall button to trigger a recall of a previously stored snapshot. What have I done wrong in the setup of my demo ens. that's preventin' it from workin'?

looking forward to your snapshot .ens, thanks for the info,

The recall port's to store the current snap into either the A or B slot or to store a snap change, and not as an actual recall mechanism. If you're controlling snap selection from a sequencer, you'll need to send a postitve signal to the recall port every time a new snap's selected(gate signals work fine)
In answer to your question, try Morpher
    This'll do what you want.

    OCCAM'S RAZOR WINS AGAIN.

HA! :) I can't believe this, you're f***in' right I didn't! Works perfectly now. . . . how could I forget that? I just finished a multi-text demo for another forum member, and I wrote "make sure it's set to ALWAYS ACTIVE, or it's just not gonna work" in the info-box of all the relvant modules. . . should have taken my own advice. . . THANK YOU schwebungssummer. . .this puzzle is now solved. Hope I can return the favor someday.

    then code me a spell-checker dammit. . . .

Yes, I'm a terrible speller. . . . thanks for pointing that out John.

Glad it was that extra 'L' you chose to point out, rather than pointing out that the on-lamp on the snapshot module was not illuminated.

    thanks,
